Well, i had an awesome time tonight. The church was a really cool place, i really liked it. My friend told me that it was voted best venue of America. Is that true?

Tiesto played a great set. A lot of the trancers i was hoping for. In the middle he played some harder stuff which i didn't enjoy very much, but after that he spinned some other wicked tunes. The crowed was going crazy also. I haven't been used to a crowd that goes crazy like that, in Holland it's much more relaxed. But here the atmosphere was awesome! Especially in the end when Tiesto was giving away autographes, i thought some people were gonna faint haha, everyone was screaming and shouting. He really must have felt like a big popstar over here. When everyone had to go to the exit I told the security guy that i came all the way from Holland to see Tiesto and that I wanted to talk with him for a while. The guy looked at me if I was crazy coming all the way from Holland especially to see Tiesto so he let me stay. When Tiesto came out of his booth I talked with for a minute, that was kind of cool. He was really surprised to hear some Dutch haha.

Some additions to Mindshifter's tracklist (as fas as I can remember):
Darren Tate vs. Michael Koglin - Waiting (the crowd went nuts!!)
Solar Stone vs Sirocco - Destination (my highligh of the evening)
Rank1 - Breathing
GTR - Mistral
Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown

instead of Midway - Inca he played Midway - Amazon
also, he didn't play a remix of ten, but that was Dj Tisto - Faithfulness

and did he play forever waiting?? He haven't heard that one. Could be a was at the bathroom, but i was there for only like 2 minutes or so.

If I remember more i will post it here.

Does anyone know the song Tiesto dropped around 12:45?? The crowd went totally nuts. I hadn't heard that song before, so maybe it's a new production??

Posted by MindShifter on May-22-2003 22:28:

Hmmmmmm I dunno if he played it or not, I thought that he did, however I was fuckin wrecked soooooooo who knows if I was thinkin properly!!!

So at the end when he was givin all the autographs out, I handed the guy my Nyana cd cover and he took it from me, handed it to tijs, he signed it and then the fuckin guy gave it to someone else!!!!!! The guy had one job to do, and he fucks that up damn im still pissed bout it!!

That's fuckin gay Chad, I'd still castrate that bitch who took the 643...

That was an awesome night, you guys already listed what I remembered though. Holy shit, the crowd wasn't even that nuts for Sasha! Shit, I had sweat beads going down my face all night, that rocked.

We definitely have to do some more spinning sometime, you guys gotta get some practice! Plus I left my mixer power cable and headphones at Anthony's, so I can't do shit...

LOL, yeah i talked to him today, he said you shoulda just left everything there! He then proceeded to tell me that he likes it better when your equipment is at his place and not yours!!!

Anyways, yeah we need the practice like its goin outta style!!! We are terrible!! You on the other hand are good, so thats cool.

Posted by farley on May-23-2003 05:59:

No shit, I'd like to have all our equipment in one place too. At least him and Mason don't have jobs yet, so we can spin pretty often. That's what they should do with their off time! Get that damn mixer working, hell they got everything else!

This sucks, I wanna mix the new tunes I got yesterday so bad, I can't believe I forgot that stuff

Chad, did you actually get up early? You passed out pretty damn quick-you guys must've gotten fucking smashed

I was a bit surprised by how the night went. Noel Sanger was pretty decent, he is a pretty entertaining guy to watch (although Ferry tops them all! ). Although I do have to say that I was slightly disappointed by Tiesto's set... it was very inconsistent, although he did throw down some great songs. His mixing was average, but what irked me the most was how incredibly short his set was. It was like barely 2 hours! WTF is that? Anyways... guess I've just been spoiled with east coast clubs, btw, was my first time at The Church. When I saw him last October, I thought he threw down a better set... but that's just me.

Ooh, and I didn't realize how great Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes was until I heard Tiesto drop it (although I'm still bitter he didn't play Andain - Beautiful Things (G&D Remix)). It was also nice to hear Rank 1 - Breathing (Airwave 2003) [Breaks Mix], mint tune. I have to agree with the crowd, everyone was so rallied up and excited, it was pretty entertaining. Also hearing The Roc Project - Never (Tiesto Remix) wasn't as awe-inspiring as I would have liked... but oh well.

One more thing, I managed to get some video/audio clips from the night of songs I wasn't able to ID that I really liked (and some great crowd reactions (ie. GTR - Mistral))... I've got slow-ass dialup, but when I get the time/bandwidth to upload these videos to a server, I'll let you guys know.

Posted by Shadow on May-23-2003 18:25:

wow, that's cool that you made some audio clips. Maybe you have one of that great song he played around 0:45. Maybe somebody can ID it.

It wasn't the breaks dub, I have that track on vinyl Too bad as your right it is a minted track!!!

BTW Stories what did you think of the church? I think that if they added lasers it would complete the club.

Andy, yeah I got up I had to! I had homework due in class on thrusday morning!

Posted by Stories on May-25-2003 21:33:

Could have sworn it was the Breaks mix... it definitely isn't the original mix, cause it has a breaks b-line, the 1 2 33 4 structure... maybe it was some other mix? Who knows, I've actually only heard the breaks mix once, so I was assuming it was the breaks mix because of the structure, but who knows?

Anyways, The Church is an okay club. I've never been anywhere else in Colorado, but I'd say they could use a few more special effects... the lighting is a bit... gloomy to say the least. Add lasers, and maybe a few more spotlights and a more complex rotation pattern, make it a bit better... maybe a true mist machine like they have at Exit

I have a total of 8 clips from the night, I managed to get 5 of the tracks down, I still have 3 left. Here's what I've got (in chronological order from the night):

1.) The Roc Project feat. Tina Arena - Never (Tiesto Remix)
2.) Midway - Amazon
3.) Something
4.) Something
5.) Darren Tate vs. Mike Koglin Present Cota - Waiting
6.) Rank 1 - Breathing (??? Mix)
7.) GTR - Mistral <-- Crowd is amazing here!
8.) Encore???

The encore was his remix of adigo of strings, and you are right it was the breaks mix of breathing, I was sooooooooooo fucked up that I couldnt remember

Do you have a way that you can post the clips????

I'd love to see em!!

Posted by AntronVee on May-27-2003 05:36:

haha, yeah that night was badass! my post is late but oh well. yeah, i've been using your headphones andy, hope you dont mind and yeah, i fixed the mixer as well. i've been spinning a lot! oh yeah, andy theres an open dj night at a place called blue ice. its every monday. i figure we should sign you up or whatever the fuck you have to do to get a spot. thatd be so cool to spin for a crowd, even though i dont know how big or small the crowd would be. i'm gonna go party now. later

All the clubs in America say they are voted "best in america."

Anyways, did you come from Holland just to see tiesto?? Or were you in the area so you went to see him?

I live in Austin, and that's still so far from me.

850-900 miles.

As soon as I take my memory card to a friend's place, I'll be able to upload some of these clips to a server so that you guys can get to them... I'll definitely let you guys know when I get around to doing it... damnit being without broad band sucks.

Finally figured out what song 4 was, Push - Journey of Life... dunno why I had so much trouble with that one. I knew it was a M.I.K.E./Push/Plastic Boy production/remix... just didn't think of going through his tracks... stupid me.

I'm not sure when Vinyl is supposed to re-open, however it is gonna be in the same location. I thought that Soma was just gettin a new name new ownership etc. I'll look into it, too bad cuz I liked that place it was chill.

well the previous owners made it sound like it was done. it could get replaced with another lounge/bar/club but i doubt it will cater to the same crowd. those same Upper V Studio guys said they may organize similar parties elsewhere tho i believe...and fucking hope so as well. i never made it to Soma, and i only just turned 21. argh|

u gonna put pics up here? its been too long since ive been a church goer! hehe...
