what decks/mixer u have?

anyone prefer say stanton/numark TT straight arm and/or vestax over 1210's?

Anyway, curious to what ppl have in their setup and what they rate of em?

I'm currently using 1210's, pioneer cmx-3000 mixer and djm-3000 cdj's, very good setup i must say. Powered by a pioneer amp, traditional with no bass or trebel control, running Mission m72 speakers

Easy man, u spin anywhere? Actually, weren't u suppose to do us a mix cd? lol

Posted by tu_face on May-22-2003 19:52:

unfortunatly there is a vast difference between my preferance and what i actually have

i have:
numark tt1650 wank peices
numark dm3001e "mixer"
ortofon concorde pro S carts (styli are a bit f00ked)
some sony headfones, dont know the number of the top of my head (not at home )

all goes thru a big fat sound system with speakers as big as a large midget..

what i would like to own:
vestax pdx2000 decks
pioneer djm600/vestax pcv275 mixer
same carts (with new styli)
the same headfones as im using now
same sound system

and i was supposed to send u a cd too.. i have one set recorded but it aint ma best, so ill av to go up to my mates to record another one :/

Pioneer DJM 600
Concorde DJ carts
HD 25 headers

Running it through my shitty stereo's atm.....but getting a better sound system soon, and pioneer cd deck will be own'd soon!

r technics the best then in everyone's opinion? wouldn't want anything else?

Posted by Puddlepuffer on May-23-2003 16:20:

pair of technics 1210 mk3d
pioneer djm600S mixer
sony mdr700 headphones
running thru a pair of 70W gale monitors

and apparently technics are best for mixing, vestax are light years ahead for scratching. as my turntabalist friend tells me.

How do you find the torque and pitch on mk3's?

and not being funny, but howcomes you got the silver djm with mk3's? That would look a little odd imo!

as far as holding the pitch is concerned IMO vestax = technics, but i like the feel of meat u get when u put ur hand on the record to stop it on the vestax, suits my style.. plus the ultrapitch is superb. dunno whether there is this feature on the techs, but on both vestax and numarks there is a thingy for altering start/stop speed, which is much to my liking

Get the Sennheiser HD25 they are the best ones i've used - don't get the Silver Sony jobbies, not only does the part that roatates snap, they aren't very tight on your head and slip down.
