Watch Out Fellow Ta's...

WATCH OUT GUYS!!!

Whatever you do, do not buy ANYTHING from HollywoodDJ.com, I dont care if you life depends on it because you will loose your life =p

I ordered a Numark PPD01 mixer from them last week on the 13th of May, and have yet to receive it. Not only that, it hasnt even been shipped yet. They have a new, but out of the box PPD01 mixer listed for $282. But they dont have any of these, and when ordered, you are charged twice for the mixer, so instead of $300, your charged $600, and you dont even see the transation on your statement. They take your money and hold on to it to collect interest on your money in their account. It takes them a few days before you receive your money back. BEWARE!!! These people are crooks, and it will take time for you to collect money back from them. If you have bought anything from them in the past few weeks or days, and have not received your item, cancel your order, and look for some other dealer. These people are not authorized dealers, and do what they want with your money.

that sucks man i had an incident just like that with 123dj.com they suck ass too. stick with pssl.com they are awesome

i had an incident liek that with 1200s.com i ordered soemthing on march 14th and i havent gotten antyhing and they dont return calls or email...im going tomorrow to the bank to file a report or soemthing. i waited this long becuase...lets just say im very patient lol

Those sites are nothing but crooks, Vlad's unfortunate experience with those as$holes is just one of very many that customers go thru almost on daily basis. Their practices are unfair and in some cases ILLEGAL. Not to mention that these so called online retailers are UNAUTHORISED for almost everythng they sell, which means, no factory warranty, nor no any kind of rebates.


pssl.com is Ok but overprices IMO

I got screwed over like this when I bought my decks too

Went into the shop and asked for two Tech M3D's and they required a deposit. I asked them to confirm they could ship them in before I put down the deposit ($1000 Aus). They called up and confirmed so I gave them my money only to get home and receive a phone call stating they actually couldn't order them in. I said I wanted my money back so I could go elsewhere but they weren't too happy with the idea of that... Over a week and a half later I finally got my cash back but not before making a dozen calls and having to tell them I'd report them to the Department of Fair Trading...

It's a wonder these sorts of people are still in business.

Heres an update on my situation...

I called Hollywood DJ today to cancel my order... and now I was informed that the mixer was already shipped 2 days ago, WTF!!! Where is the email with the tracking number?? Not there, why? Because the "person" (if there is one) with the "print out" (if there is one) of all the tracking numbers for the week doesnt come in on mondays, and monday is a holiday, so I wont have the tracking number until tuesday... Hmmmmmmmm so my mixer could be in Antarctica for all I know and I would have no way of finding out until tuesday. Although I cant complain the people there arent hospitable, but their store and service SUCK ASS!!!

That's bullsh!t, they should have all the tracking numbers in their computer system... They use UPS software and should be able to find the tracking number by your last name, Request to speak with a manager or the owner or you will canx the order and if in fact it was shipped, you will refuse delivery.

They use FedEx.. but I dont see why they wouldnt have it.

See I dont do anything with UPS/FedEx, so I wouldnt know how anything works... Therefore I cant put up an arguement with them... If I knew as much about this as you, I would have flamed their asses already.

I think pssl is overpriced too, but you can get them to pricematch other authorized resellers (like Guitar Center in the U.S.) at 110%. In other words, they will match their competitor's price and beat it by 10% of the difference in pricing. I think their service is top notch and have an industry leading 45 day return policy. No one else has that kind of return policy. And since they're authorized resellers on everything they sell, you don't have to worry about not getting your warranty honored by the manufacturers.

I've bought my DJM-500 and CDJ-1000 from them at around 15-25% off retail because of pricematching.

p.s. I agree with everyone that HollywoodDJ sucks ass. I bought my 1200's from them and they wanted to pass off used decks as new since I went to their downtown LA store (which is named something else) to pick them up. I had to stand there and look mad before the shady idiot decided to go in back and "find" a new one.

123dj.com fucked up my order four times and never even bothered to get it completey right. FCUK them! Dont ever go anywhere near them.

ya know what i recomend.... Go to the big names samash, guitar center, zzounds. They all are big reputable stores...

BS Pssl.com overprices!!!and even if they did that have a 110% low price guarentee and i know the price guarentee works cuz thats how i got my tables so cheap. i have ordered from pssl.com over 8 times now and every time it has been here within a week usually 5 days.

i bought my mk2's off hollywood dj like last year

one of them was perfect
the other one was missing the 45 rpm adaptor,the adaptor that you plug into the electrical socket because they are japanese power cables. and the tone arm balance weight

DJ Tranz.. howz it goin'? i'm from the valley too, my home is in Canoga Park, i'm just finishing up school here at UCRiverside but about to move back. where about in northridge are you at? secondly, whats wrong w/ 6stardj.com, i kno they are shady too, but basically u can benefit from them if you go to their location. I just got a pair of ortofon nightclub styli for 50 bux from them, no sales tax either, 50 bones straight out the door. but ordering online they charge 26.99 each and add tax and $11 bux.. since when did it cost $11 to ship something that weighs less than a fart to a destination thats about 50 miles away.. even then, their price on the styli is cheap if i had to pay shipping, so thats about the only thing i'd recommend getting from that store. u work for djmart.com or something? or u just love them so much u sport the link in ur sig? holla back fellow 818 TA


..oh and for the first post in this thread, i believe that u just had a bad experience w/ a really shitty store, but trust me, they aren't holding ur payment to collect interest because interest (for the span of a week or two) isn't worth much of anything, but lets assume that interest on $600 was in fact worth the hassle of trying to hide, i'm sure the morons running the business wouldn't be smart enough to do it.

Hey, how's it going? I live near Reseda and Chase(1blk north of Roscoe). 6*dj gets a lot of "black market" stuff so lots of times you think you're buying one thing and all you're getting is a cheap imitation with forged brand name attached to it. hollycrapdj in hollywood, lol!, sells any color ortofon replacement tip for $19.99 tell me how's that possible when dealer cost on silver tips(second lowest model) is above 20.00? and by chance should IRS people read any of these posts about stores selling items w/o charging tax, oh boy, would those stores be in a mess w/IRS, hahahaha LOL!!! I still dont have a tracking number on it either, they probably just shrugged me off and told me they sent it... Its ok though.. If by next week i dont have a tracking number or the mixer itself, the BBB and FTC will hear about this.

i feel for ya Vlad, i ordered some speakers from etronics.com and their service sucked ass too. the thing said that they were in-stock and usually ships w/in 1-2 days, and the sad thing is that the entire time ur order is going, they have a little progress thing u can check the status of ur order, and they had mine in processing for a month, finally, the order moved into the packaging stage where it sat for another week, and eventually made its way into the shipping status for another couple of days and then, maybe a month and a half later, it finally said it was shipped and i got my ups tracking # and u know its bad when you are actually happy that the product is in the hands of UPS!
