is it for any page or just certain websites?

have you got the latest updates for i.e from windowsupdate.microsoft.com (if your *cough* using a slightly illegal version of windows xp the only update that checks the registration info (atm) is service pack 1, all the other updates dont), if not do also have you done a spyware scan?

I have a legit version of xp pro.
i always let it update when it says it can update.
it happenes on all webpages.
i have adaware and last time i ran it was about a week ago.

only think i might mention is that i had to do a windows reinstall about 3 weeks ago. i just installed over the old windwos. the problem that arose was that all my stuff was on my comp but since the windows registry was cleared, none of the programs on my computer were recognized by windows. i deleted the folders of the programs i did not need and reinstalled the ones i wanted so that they would once again be registered with windows. i am guessing this is what screwed it up but i am not sure what explorer needs to know in order to view source. i would say that the notepad might be screwed up but since that is installed with windows, it should be registered.

i doubt that as both notepad and internet explorer are installed when windows is installed. i do belivce the automatic update thing only updates the critical patched, if you goto windowsupdate.microsoft.com there are additional windows updates (where i think there is a newer version of internet explorer) to download

if it werent for the fact that it happens at all websites, id say it was java script allowance issues but i guess not, let me ask of friend of mine tomorrow
