Ghost Smilie serious equipment shopping help PLZ [will add questions consistently]

I'm convinced that I wanna buy hardware.
I've read the forums enough to need to ask everything here!!!! (so just don't tell me to search.. heheh sorry)
I intend to (once I have the cash) have 2 TTs, 1 or 2 mixers, and 2 CD-DJ players.

But to begin.. I know I'm buying a mixer.
I've see a stanton smx-201 or smx-211 for $129 CDN. How does that sound pricewise? What should I be looking for in any decent mixer for a starter?

And I've just found that 2 CD-DJ players are next in line. I noticed how great the Pioneer CDJ-800 and 1000 are, but don't have the cash for them new. How much are new vinyl-simulator CD-players? and versus regular CD-DJ players?? (CDN or US funds?)
What I think I basically need in one is...
-pitch control, cueing, looping, and CD-R/RW playability.
the vinyl-simulation bit would be nice too, but price is more important, unless it's a real >>deal<<.
And are there any that have MP3-CD playability??

Pioneer DMP-555 plays mp3cds, and I believe American DJ and Denon have models that do too.

It's one thing to ask people about their experiences with certain models of an item compared to another, but asking about prices and features means you need do to ur homework. -_-

Ahoy M8, email me directly [email protected] with all your questions and I'll help you figure out what you need to get for what you want to do and I'll make up a great package for you with best possible price.

The CDJ units that play back MP3 formatt are dual except for Pioneer DMP-555 but you are looking at quite a bit of money for each one, roughly USD $1100.00, instead you should get Denon DND4000 brand new model for 2003 with Dual decks Mp3/CD/CDR/CDRW playback. Numark also makes MP3 compatible dual CDJ units but they don't even compare to performance of Denon, plus the two Standard CDJ units in 99% of the clubs are Denon and Pioneer. Cheers.

PS. I might take a day or so to respond in full, 'cause I am out in San Francisco and will be hitting up at least 3 huge events, plus I have to visit Tom Slik at Skills Recording Studio in Berkley, so as you can imagine I'll be pretty busy, so my appologies ahead of time.

I just read that the stanton sk-6f mixer is for scratching. WOuld it be any good for DJ mixing?? How can I judge that based on features??

the SK-6F

I was also looking at the SK-FOur [link]

and I thought the Numark 1002x would be ok.. [linky]

plz, tell me what you think would be the better DJ mixer buy. I really wanna decide soon!!

update:

I also see tha the [SK-2F] is good for my needs.

so yea what can any of you pros tell me?

All the mixers you mentioned are scratch mixers, if you don't plan on scratching, get a mixer that is better for mixing/blending, get it with 3 channels, nice eqs, etc. something in that price range, get a Behringer VMX300(pm me for price) it is a great entry to medium advanced level mixer.

cheers...

Well I've seen it and then I saw the price.... I'm still gonna eventually get 2 of those.... quite the hotness.

also... I've decide to go for vinyl instead. Gonna get some technics 1200M3Ds as soon as the newest technics TTs come out in July/August.

I can see it now... price drop $5!!! Rush and buy a pair!!!
Look man... with all this buzz marketing that Technics receieves free on expense from its owners, the tables basically sell themselves. MAYBE the mkII's will have some sort of price drop, but m3ds probably not. They just sell too damn many to stop producing them at the price they still stand. So... the mk5's will be ablout 100 dollars more while the mk5g's will be around 200 more. They're not stupid, they can profit more this way, since even with all this new competition the tables still sell nicely.
It's not quite a monopoly, but its close.
