Another deep thought for the night.

Do you believe you can be alone and not be lonely?

depends what you have in front of you...i mean...there are times when im sitting in front of my computer with no friends or anyone around me but im still occupied, whether its chatting with peeps in AIM, playing a game, watching porn (jk) etc...so yeah you can be alone and still not be lonely for me

I think you cannot be alone and not be lonely. This obviously depends on how you're feeling though. If you're feeling shitty then you will always feel lonely while alone. If not than you might not feel that way. I don't know, could be I'm talking BS.

Yup. It all depends on mood... It's quite possible to be alone and not lonely if you are preoccupied with something else.

A state of mind, or a physical state both have a consequence and it depends on your moment... i fink (mebbe i suldn't)

that's what my therapist told me. i dont believe her.

I used to worry about being single, then i realized a couple (get it?) of things:

1) It has been my choice to not get involved
2) most people i know w/ a girl/boyfriend are miserable 90% of the time because of it. I was one of them for a bit.

I dont waste my time bullshitting with girls I wouldnt want to hang out w/ be w/ etc... I would MUCH rather be goin on a bike ride or a hike, or even drinking and watching visualization on my computer than be with some girl that annoyed the shit out of me.

This applies to friends also, if there arent any cool people in your life dont waste your time pretending they are a good friend. Just wait.

All in all, I would say being with people is the BEST way to feel alone. You realize what a dick most people are, and it is disheartening.

i've been single for my entire 18 years of my life...i'm not exactly crying over it...

Yes, I think its possible.
First, I think it's easy not to feel lonely when you're alone if that's all you have ever known. Kind of like you dont know what you're missing, so if you've never had something, you can't miss it that much.
Or, if you are an extremely fulfilled , content person you might be able to be alone and not be lonely. I dont happen to be at that point in my life (fulfilled and content),so i will not expand further upon things I know not of.

HOWEVER- It is DEFINITELY possible to be alone AND lonely. Like you didn't know that.

Sure. I only feel lonely when I'm unhappy and theres no one around and theres nothing to do. A more intresting question is can you be with someone and still feel lonely.
