On the tennis coverage last night...
I noticed that during the inspirational/motivational intro to Channel 7's coverage of the Hewitt match at the French Open last night, the tune was none other than...
the ethereal vocals in the breakdown of Scott Bond vs Solar Stone - The 3rd Earth!!!
Someone at 7's got some damn fine taste in tunes...
I hate it tho cos' just when they play any good track and its about to break in/down/peak etc it cuts to that weedy little jockey looking commentator Bruce or wot eva the fcuk his name is
just like if u listen to Nova or something - only good tunes u hear are usually in background of intros/news/weather/traffic etc...
...there needs to be more of us in musical direction positions within the media
end rant
mmm nova... and that reminds me...
about a week ago on nova, when some hack announcer was plugging some crappy competition, the background music was Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound of Goodbye (Rising Star Remix)
. i nearly ran my car off the road!
WTF!!!!
they played armino....
actually, could of been the fox or nova, but i did hear yet another day and nothing but you within 10 minutes of eachother...
of course it was a friday nite
Cool, yeah channel 7 had Barbers Adagion Fro Strings (ferry corsten mix) for the soccer last year... woot!
And here in Adelaide SA-FM (the commercial crap radio station) had Dream To Me (airscape remix) as the background music to one of their competitions.
what's this TV and Radio of which you speak?
over here in perth, the 92.9 FM had tillman uhrmacher - on the run and the background music in one of their competition quite a while ago.
they had jurgen vries - the opera song with some other competition too
instead of using them as a background, why not play them..??
7 also had Sasha - Xpander playing at the oz open this year (just before they went to a commercial break)
good taste indeed
also these ones are a bit obvious but I'll mention them anyway.
4 strings - take me away (into the night)
was used on the Great Outdoors as their promo song for ages. Sophie... so hot
also Chicane - Saltwater (official theme for Toursim Ireland ads).
well there you go......

I really like the Tourism Ireland ad, I've always believed Chicane - Saltwater complemented the visuals nicely. Though I'm sure the visuals were made to look like the video clip!
The vocals (by Maire Brennan) are Irish aren't they?
The vocals are taken from this track:
Clannad - Theme from Harry's game
Clannad is an Irish music group, they produce ambient/new-age style music.
Search and download that track, just so you know what the vocals sounded like before it was incorporated into Chicane - Saltwater.
