if you could be any age again, what would it be?

inspired by trance-aqua's thread...

i am really content with my age now (23). i have no real responsibilities, i have a very healthy income, and the freedom to go out every night if i feel like it.

though if i had to choose some other age to be, i think it would be 5. i think innocence is something really special and i kinda wish you could appreciate it more when you have it.

16.. so then i can enjoy my teenage years even better... having the knowledge i have no, also to do better and not fuck up my life so much like ive been doing.

i dont wana leave 17!

Posted by Fundamental on May-28-2003 13:24:

Things always look better in retrospect, but still I'd like to go back a couple of years and be 18 again...

I'm with butterfly. I'm 22, it's nice having a job and being able to afford stuff ... but responsibilities suck haha. Bring me back to the tender age of 10, gimme me my morning cartoons, and my bowl of lucky charms.

Can I be older than I am? Then I would probably want to be ~20, so I can buy haed liquor (22% and more)

would you really though? i know i wouldn't wanna grow up in this society... i'm the same age as you and i think growing up in our time period was way more interesting than it would be growing up now... the world now has become too homogenized and dull...

that's a good point... but when i was little i remember running around outside and making up games to play. i dont see why any of that would have to be any different in todays society. but more importantly, i didnt doubt the love of the ppl around me and i wasnt responsible for anything.

Posted by mute79 on May-28-2003 15:18:

i think it is different, i think kids now are becoming increasingly isolated from one another... i'm sure the (family) love is still there, but i think everything else about growing up has changed, for the worse... thats the impression i get anyway...

but back to your original question, i dunno if i'd want to change anything at all... i'm really happy with what i've been through so far, i have no regrets at all, i've learned a lot from my experiences thus far and if i did change something, it'd prolly change my view on the world itself, which i wouldn't want to do at all...

id choose to keep on getting older

Posted by mute79 on May-28-2003 15:59:

"choose life"

heh

Posted by BeatFreak on May-28-2003 17:20:

I'd like to be 4 again so all you think about is toys and cartoons. No worries...

I'm 23 now, but I'd like to be 17 again and invincible. Though being able to buy alcohol is a definite plus. I feel like I'm 19 though.

Posted by Endlesswave on May-28-2003 17:34:

I'd kill to be 19 again. All those missed opportunities etc. I'd do it all over again except the way I SHOULD have done things.

amen sista! although, i will be 24 soon. 25 is scary. that's like a fuckin quarter century! I remember when my mom was 25 and that seemed SOOO old to me, and now i will be that in just over a year..

scary..

the days go by like years, and the years go by like days.

Most people say that if they were young again they'd do things differently! Ok, i'm 19, tell me how to do it?

Easier said after. You learn from your experiences.

I'm 19 now, but i wish i was about 3, young enough to have no responsibilitys, mature enough to know how to wipe my ass

there are a few specific incidences in my life i would change but other than that i am happy with the choices i have made.

Posted by Tranc3 on May-28-2003 21:35:

I think I'd want to go back to the second grade, however old I was then. Man that was a great year. Aweosme teacher, fun times, no real worries, don't get people looking at you all funny when you say you like watching cartoons

Posted by Nadi on May-28-2003 22:33:

14, then i could go back with more experience and not do all the dumbshit i did when i was 14-15.

Posted by Orbax on May-28-2003 22:39:

Old enough to go anywhere (pubs, clubs, different countries) developed enough to do any physical activity well (run, hike, weight lift) old enough to be looking for hot matured women, yet young enough to where everything is still exciting and new and dreams havent been shattered. Old enough to be responsible for yourself and independent to a degree, yet not so old that you are completely independent and are weighted with responsibilites and careers...

what im trying to say is 21-24

mind me, how old were you when your mom was 25???

speaking of growing up - it's shit. i'm about to graduate and in two weeks i'll be turning 18... fucking time

Posted by UWM on May-28-2003 23:37:

I would do anything to be 18 again.

Freshman in college, away from parents for the first time, so many new experiences, new friends. I learned so much about myself and the world around me that year, and it was the most fun year of my life. Granted I am not so much older now (22), but I wish I could go back and do it all the same - I wouldn't change a thing.

Posted by nickmahoney on May-28-2003 23:58:

i'd go back to last wednesday night so i could pay my cable bill on time

seriously, i'm 21. i'm finishing my first year of medical school now, so i'm in some serious debt and i have to study 'a little bit', but there is no better age if you ask me. i just think that if you asked me the same question ten years from now, i'd say 21. who knows

ps - i think the top part is from a song

Posted by SuperFarStucker on May-29-2003 02:56:

I don't know.. all this retrospective stuff seems like fluff to me... looking back is always a painful thing for me to do, because then i realize all the things ive lost and all the opportunities i've fucked up.. I'd rather just look forward, it's an easier thing to do, at least for me, my life has pretty much been shit. Dissapointment after dissapointment.. at least i'm doing well in school eh???
