Downloading now Ricky, I'll let you know what I think tomorrow! Can't wait to finally hear some great mixing on this board again. I was thinking about making a classic/older mix of my favorite tunes. You've inspired me. Til then...

peace,

Steve

Hey Ricky,

Just gave your mix a listen, and as always, fantastic transitions throughout the whole length. Maybe I'm looking into this too much, but it seems that a lot of people try too hard to simply put all the newest, rarest, and most massive songs into their mixes in an effort to impress all the other tranceaddicts. But it always seems like you're just playing songs that you truly love, and I think that really shines through in the mix somehow. Great mix!

Hope you enjoy the mix Steve,
And thanks Stasis for the positive kind comments.
Stasis, on the subject of the tracklisting... I think the track selection depends on your audience. Are you trying to impress your local promoters... or is it for friends or whatever.

I obviously would have put an overall more current tracklist if it was a promo, along with a couple of known tracks. Either way, i dont like to use too many 'massive' buildup like tracks on my mixes, cause they tend to tire out the listener, and even me as the dj.

Hey Ricky,

I really enjoyed this one, due to the wonderul track selection, had some of my fav's in there! Very chiiled out, I loved it, your transitions were all 100% on the money as usual. hmm...waiting for the day I can reach del Mar status...Your transitions were on the money, byt the bass seemed to fade out a lil and come back again in each mix, however. Thats the only complaint I had about it. Keep up the guality work, and encouragement you're giving me to continue Dj'ing. I've learned so much from you. Til next time...

peace,

Steve

PS Hey are you going to enter the global dj contest or what? If you don't I would be really upset, you need to be in there. Later...

Hey Steve,
Im glad you liked the mix my friend :toocool :
As far as the bass thing goes, its sometimes the bass cancelling out, or also the way i work the eqs when i have the both tracks at almost %100... im always making sure the bass does not conflict or over power.
DJ Global contest? I didnt know there was a contest available. Thats cool, ill look into it. When is the date?

yeah, i feel you on that, I might do the same as well, but I don't have too much prog in the record box, so I might not go that route. Damn, I need CD-decks!

***If anyone hasn't checked out Ricky's mixes, you should, you are missing out on some amzing talent. He truly is one of the best DJ's on this board***

Just look at it this way...my girlfriend thinks I'm gay sometimes as to how much I gloat and talk about some TA's on this board. It's very funny, but when I see talent from any DJ/producer, I rant about them like a teenager at an NSync concert.

wow... i feel like i ripped you off for not paying for this mix.. this is definitely a keeper. the sound quality is the best i have heard in a while. very professionally planned and executed. keep up the good work

Hey Ricky,
Excellent mix. Thought it got a little soft in the middle after a nice bumping intro of tunes, but nonetheless it was a joy to listen to. You go from track to track seamlessly and it really sets a nice atmosphere, which is the most important aspect of a set other than track selection imo. Look forward to hearing your next mix!

Thanks Omegasox for your compliments and honesty, happy you enjoyed the mix.
