trance addict?

So I was thinking.. is it possible to literally get addicted to trance???? Not just liking or loving it.. but addicted. Like cocaine or smoking. Everytime I try to be still and trance is playing, I'll feel my heartbeat go with it... Maybe I'm addicted to trance... I listen to it around 4 hours a day..

I think it's possible to be addicted to the good feeling that the music might induce. I read that serotonin surges (ie when you are on E) is connected to a desire for rapid repeated movements. So maybe when you listen to trance (hence repeating beats and euphoric melody) it induces that same euphoria which itself can be addicting...regardless of whether you do drugs. Just a thought.

hmmm.... listen to trance first thing when i awake.. when i get dressed.. when i take a shiet.. when i go to sleep... on my way to work... while closing at work... and when im on the comp...
SO i guess u can say im addicted...

If I go for long periods of time without hearing trance (say 5 hours) I start to hum out trance ch00ns to subdue my cravings.

i read somewhere, where your brain changes frequency from delta waves, to alpha waves when listening to music that has a certain kind of beat, it all depends on the person. But apparently the early shamans when they listend to the repitive beat of the drums would go into a trance like state. Alpha waves cause relaxation and an increase in the sertonin levels in the brain. SO umm yea..

your hardly an addict if you only listen to it 4 hours a day. when my radio is on, when im at the computer, when im at work, when im in my car, when im at the club, all i listen to is trance. (and a little progressive here and there)shit i even dream about wicked tracks and times ive been at the club. just about any other kind of music pisses me off eccept for alternative/rock. i even had to go out and buy a damn mp3 player for my car cause i have over 100 gigs of live sets and 90% of them are all trance. now i would say im deff addicted to trance.

Posted by drgoodvibe on May-30-2003 23:03:

hrmm.. ok so here it is for me i guess..

I have a suitcase full of mp3 cds, 80% trance, I listen to trance, when i'm at home, in the car, on the subway, when i'm on the computer, when I was at work. I have taken a vacation to Ibiza to be able to hear trance spun by the greatest DJs in some of the best clubs in the world. Yea i'm just a tad addicted..

Posted by LKD on May-30-2003 23:14:

well i aint trance addicted...

i used to be once upon a time...

then again... no

im music addicted...i have to have some kind of music playing all the time while awake...well as long as i aint in a conversation.. i need the music..if no media available, tend to runa tune in my head....or do some drum beats with any hard objects around me

Posted by raaven on May-31-2003 08:15:

i'm addicted to trance and i'm not afraid to admit it.

if you saw my record collection and mix tape/cd collection it'd definitly be obvious. lol.

i can't live without my trance. i really can't

but then again i can't live without listening to jazz either sooo. hmmm.. trance still wins though.

..yes..this is what I'm talking about. There is something about repetetive beats that induces a sense of well being.
