i don't scratch but .. i use regular technixs slipmats on my gemini's

Posted by Tiger777 on May-30-2003 14:57:

Actually, you don't need special slipmats for scratching... Like bastard sayd here, the technics slipmats are excellent cuz there isn't too much paint on it. Paint can damage records...

Posted by Martin McG on May-30-2003 14:59:

you can pick them up from one of the many online record stores!

depends where you live!

djmart.com or sapphires.co.uk

and american and an english store

Posted by Tiger777 on May-30-2003 18:03:

Or in shops where they sell vinyls, they usually sell slipmats too...

yup, I know quite a few people that actually use them for regular mixing as well, cueing is a lot easier and less wear on the needle when you backspin to cue up a record because you use less force.

The latest in advanced technology built for skratch DJ training and high performance. Often imitated, but never duplicated. The Butter Rug v. 2 continues its light speed innovation ahead of the rest when the superminds from SlipmatSource and Thud Rumble search for new ways to make your skratching feel like it's gliding through air. Extensively tested by Inspector Q himself through the most rigid standards. Accept no substitutes.
that pic is actually the packaging the mats come in, and the actual mats are plain brown or black in color. we sell them for 19.95 per set. www.djmart.com

Smiley DJ We sell and make CUSTOM SLIPMATS!!!

We have slipmats we have designed in our store and we also make custom slipmats. When I say custom I mean custom!!! We work with our clients until they agree on a picture of the slipmats and then they are shiped to them. The customer will be sent pics of the slipmats until they are completely to their liking. We also make "Thin Ice Speedmats" for the Dj's that like to scratch. You can find the slipmats at this link...

Thanks for checking us out and if you buy slipmats thanks for your business in advance.

If you want a cheap trick to make any slipmat more slippery, just cut one of those plastic sleeves that records come in to the size of your slipmat and place it underneath between the platter and the slipmat.

Y'all lazy.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Phonomat/8765889687

They make an audiophile and DJ version, the latter of which have a silk underlay and are easily the best pair of mats I've owned.

Good enough? Montreal based, too...

There's still no information on how to buy these things on that page. Just a bunch of people asking if they are in stock without getting an answer.

I posted a link to Affiliated Designs

They make the best slipmats around the people that own the store are professional Dj's with a radio show and all. They also make the best custom designs around there are pics on the page where you buy them. All the info to buy the slipmats is there on the page and they also make Scratch Mats. You can also have custom scratch mats or regular mats made to your liking. Why buy already made slipmats everyone has when you can get one of a kind personalized Dj Slipmats? Here is the link again...

What do you think the email addy on the site is for?

Stefan is more of a designer than he is an EDM guy, so Phonomat's always been a bit low-profile. We carried the audiophile version at a store I managed several years back, and I just kept in touch with him after we shut shop...

I will contact them soon. Woony if it checks out and they're good I can probably hook it up if you'd be interested.

Those are butter rugs. I own a few of them. They were included on the Qbert Traktor Scratch record.
