Eye of Horus.. did you know?

So every once in a while I get curious about a track's name or lyrics. This time it was Aly and Fila - Eye of Horus. So I did a little research (aka google search), and came up with this:

Horus was a solar falcon god in ancient Egypt. It was thought that a solar eclipse was in fact Horus' eye, as it looks like the pupil and the iris surrounding it. You can see what I mean in this picture:

Also, the Egyptian myth of the cosmic battle between the solar falcon god Horus and the sun eating serpent god Set was inspired by total solar eclipses. This is because during those total eclipses of the sun, the sun appearing around the edges of the moon appear very much like a bird's wings spreading out on either side of the so-called "black sun" that is formed by the dark circle of the occulting disk of the moon. Like this:

This interested me, thought I'd share

Don't you guys ever read National geographic or watch movies like the mummy!, This stuff is all in there. Ok, well maybe the mummy doesn't go into that much depth about horus. BTW anyone ever play eye of horus the computer game from like 1989 or something.
Such a sweet game!

Drawn between the physical and spiritual, you are a Shaman from ancient Egypt who's task is to find the magical Eye of Horus using your power of transformation. The Eye you seek is hidden deep within a pyramid, and to survey higher levels, you'll have to use your morphic bird capabilities. Seemlessly switching from bird to man, it'll take a little more than magic to save you from the many traps set to trick you in the tomb. Eye of Horus is a fairly original action platform game, but the ease and dullness of the levels may keep seasoned gamers from participating in the excavation.

I want to play that game too! I love those old games, they were the best kind.

And you're welcome for the info, until the next time my curiosity is piqued!

Ya its a pretty cool game! I would download if I could find it. Other hard core awesome pc games I used to play include : Sopwith Camel, Scorched Earth, Centurion (that one is a rare gem, truly amazing game), Prince of Persia, Arkanoid (so many sleepless nights wasted on this one), Licence to Kill - 007, and these were before games became mainstream with wolfenstein etc...1989 and before!
