i know this is a dumb question but i never have found out what the scroll lock on the keyboard does.

back in the old fashioned days of dos when gui's (graphical user interface) were not invented, and there was loads of data on the screen it was used to stop the data getin displayed so it could bee seen before it scrolled off the top of the screen, these days it just sits there and never gets used
