Norwegian TA moving to NYC (good idea?)
All my beliefs have changed, my ethics are no longer what they were.
I was going to the millitary, for two years (Sergant), and then study for five years. Yep, pretty straightforward don't you think?
But then I met her... Exchange Student from NYC (Wow, am I not an idiot, an exchange student?!!?!)...
Deeplessly in love, I've desided to fuck the millitary, and go together with her to NYC and live with her at her brothers house(free of charge!) for a while, eg. till my Greencard expires :P ... However I will need a job. Now that's the real reason for this post.
I'd like to hear from someone who lives there, if it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a job, whatever you know, 7-11, gas station, Computer Tech(especially this one), whatever
i posted in your chillout thread. check there.
and if you cant find a job, you can always go home....
you picked a shitty time to come to NY dude 'cause the economy sucks and the city is in the midst of a huge fiscal crisis.
assuming you have some marketable skills and a willingness to be flexible though, you should be able to find something--at the very least like a busboy at a diner or something.
check out www.monster.com and the classified ads at www.nytimes.com to get you started
best of luck
Not to be a downer on love but 4/5 moving for a guy/girl is a mistake. Especially in that off chance you guys break up and you're all alone in a new city with no friends and family...
