I think you get on 401 to like brimley and then come back on regular roads. i would definitely suggest not taking it 4-7pm as 401 is PAAAACKED!!!!

Posted by loconet on Jun-05-2003 01:24:

Yup, took it a while ago, passed the 1st time. Eassssy

Make sure you get the black dude, he'll take it easy on you.

Any of the women will have you for lunch. Don't take the dude with the english/scottish accent.

They take you by the side streets - Usually around a high school, so watch out for the cross walk. Those fucking high school kids like to wait till the last moment to push the damn button.

Then, emergency parking, blah blah.. drive a lil more .then west on 401 for about 2kms max, then off the highway, then back on 401 again goin west, then to back to the center.

About 20mins - 30mins, look around a lot, look at your mirrors every 5-10 secs! - make it really obvious.

Good luck - don't be nervous else you are fucked

Yeh I took it once there.(failed) Mornings are best! The above advice is good. Also DO look around a lot, shows you're paying attention and actually give a shit. (ie you don't want to die in a car wreck)

Talking

THere's some heavy construction right along there. Don't go around 4:30-6:00. It's a pure jam.

i have my g2 test tomorrow morning (finally got off my ass and called the guy haha) , kinda nervous but everyone tells me not to be, wish me luck!

G2 is a highway test? I always thought that's a Full "G."
These tests are beyond easy. The route is nothing extraordinary. Watch the speed limit. Little bastards everywhere. I took my G2 around 3:30, the last exam. Got stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident for 10-15 min. Needlesly to say, the guy didn't have enough patience to see me park, so he just passed me and run away.

p.s. it was also extremly hot and the Air conditioner didn't work.

Good Luck

There's no "full g" test. It's called "G2 exit test" as in you're finishing G2 and getting your actual full on license.

you worry too much all that time i spent explaining the etobicoke test to you (also a piece of cake!) you should have come here to take the test! hehe ..

actually it isnt. considering they are called the G1 and G2 exit tests...

you should take your highway test asap. The moment you do is the moment your insurance starts to reduce. Even though it may not be a lot if your under 25 but every dollar counts to me cause i'm a ghetto cheap ass mother fudger. Oh and how long was the wait in order to get an appointment for test date?

Thumbs up just another tip

Listen, if u screw something up and u know u did it wrong, say " I shouldn't have done that/ I should have done that...." they will recognize it and at least they know that you knew ....know what I mean?

Be really obvious, and drive with confidence!!! Drive like no one is watching! GOOD LUCK! I just did mine 1 week ago and I passed!

Posted by brunette on Jun-06-2003 04:02:

Mine is on Monday, don't even know where
I'm not really nervous cause I have tons of other things on my mind, besides I'm a good driver, so if I fail it's because the examiner is an @$$.. I don't really care, I don't even have a car

good luck anyways!

KarateKid

hey mine's on Monday too ! @ 11:30 am .. wells still waiting for the confirmation call from my instructor .. good luck to you too !!

and to AAzn_Scratch .. if u want an earlier date juss tip off aka. bribe ur instructor .. they know ppl on the inside and can usually get u a date within DAYS ! otherwise if u book online it's about a 3 month waiting list .. !

This is actually really true .. you'll come across as a good driver if you are able to admit (and find) some mistakes you made .. I did it on my G1 exit test after a really crappy parallel parking demo and I still passed (also on the first try) and your G2 exit test should be easier because you shouldn't be as nervous as you were for your G1 exit test -- you're used to the pressure

Posted by SKELETOR on Jun-06-2003 12:13:

that G test is eaaasy shit. if u got a g2 and drive often u got no worries. just drive carefully, shoulder checks..u know the deal.

speed up to 80-100 before u enter the lane into the hiway...

and most importantly.. STAY CALM!!

i failed my g2 the first time casue i was so nervous, but aced the g test cause i stayed cool.

One of the big things that I got nailed on was not scanning intersections while driving through them (even though I had a green light) Be obvious with your scans so the evaluator can see that you are in fact looking left, straight and right while approaching an intersection. Also be obvious with you mirror and blind spots checks. Say it out loud if you have to so they know that you are looking, Just say "checking my blindspot" etc. Good skill to all of those who have tests coming up soon. You'll do fine

I'll second that one. You have to be really deliberate when you do any looking around, to make sure they notice.

I'd also recommend against driving standard on the test. Apparently it's against the law to have only 1 hand on the wheel while driving through an intersection, which means you have to drive in 1st gear until you are totally done any turning!

Question

Hello, I was just wondering in anybody's opinion which G exit exam test is harder. Taking it at the Victoria Park center, or Morningside center. I thought VP would be harder since you have to go on busy DVP..

You really can't predict how hard it will be. I took it twice at VP (failed the first), and the highway portion was totally different. The first time there was little traffic, so I went north on the DVP, east on 401, and got off at Victoria Park. The second time I went south on the DVP to Wynford (1 stop), and then got back on the highway north to Lawrence.

The second time was much easier even though traffic was heavier.I didn't have to worry about speeding, and merging into traffic is actually easier at 20km/h than at 80km/h.

just do it in brantford. trust me.
