As I said above Scott Bond just played at our club on May 30th, and at our private afterhours party I straight out asked him "why were you mixing in epic trance with hard trance" His reply was that though he is hard trance most of the time, his new cd has some epic trance in it and his last production "3rd Earth" is also on the epic side(He also said to watch out for Marco V Rmx coming soon). Also he said hard trance seems to be dying out very very slowly whereas epic, cyber, and upbeat progressive trance are on the rise.

as far as chris liberator, dave the drummer, and tronik, give those tracks a listen and then tell me they aren't hard trance. I think I'll trust planetxusa.com on that one, no offense to you, but they also have the other categories you mentioned, but listed chris liberator, dave the drummer and tronik in hard trance sub genre.

No,Chris and D.A.V.E are acid techno/techno artists. If you would call their music for hard trance to their face they'd probably a)laugh themselves to death or b)be offended.

I think these links should be more than enough for you:

Hard trance are represented nowadays by the likes of Uberdruck,Hennes & Cold and Marcel Woods.Take a listen to for example Drugface - ****master (Uberdruck Mix) and then compare it to a Liberator or D.A.V.E The Drummer-track.Both hardtrance?I think not.

ROFL! hahahahahhahaha .. Shows how much you know. Don't count Komodo, I agree, very cheesy.. thats the only track his fans hate. But son, Picotto is Hard Trance, but yes there is a Techno feel to his music, Maybe you should pick up some of his vinyls. Also Listen to his sets. Rofl dummy...

You think wrong. Listen to some of their remixes. Don't count the 'After All' remix they recently did. Listen to some other work. Trust me.. lots of hard trance elements.

Anyways, some of my other fav HT djs/producers:
Norman Bass
Davide Sgarbi
Perfect Phase

Man you people need to get your shit fuckin straight
Wtf is track like "Pulsar"? Don't tell me your weak mind think its pure techno because of the doom dooom doom drums/bass line? STFU BITCH!
Its straight up Hard-Trance. The way you separate Techno and Hard Trance is due to the fact that HT has waayyyyy more melody. Melody that is present in most of what Picotto does. Dumb sluts.

lol @ mto's last 3 posts. mate u seriously need to buy urself a clue. I am not trying to flame, but u are seriously mis-informed about what hard trance is all about.

Scot Bond... Hard Trance... Noway. His sets sometimes cross over from epic and uplifting to a couple of "harder tracks like for example Flashrider Mix of We Are Different, and perhaps a few tracks of the Alphazone variety, but he is generally an Uplifting Trance DJ.. and just as Jay said above, i have been to enuf Gatecrashers to know what Scot Bond is all about. And as for Chris Liberator, i though the average Joe Bloggs on the street with an ass hole knew that he is proper techno/acid techno. Same with D.A.V.E. And Tronik is one of my fav Hardstyle artists. He is not hard trance.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jun-05-2003 11:32:

Picotto's trance period ended years ago.Last trance tune he ever did was Back To Cali,he's all techno now. That's why Cuttof responded the way he did.For proof check out his remix of Clocks,or tracks like Awesome!!,Bangkok,Freetown or Baguette. And as for being a hard trance dj,get outta here.Even during his trance days almost everything he spun was techno, apart from his own tracks or BXR-releases.

Svenson & Gielen are influenced by hard trance yes,but they do not make hard trance the way I see it.Beachbreeze was not hard trance,After All-remix was not hardtrance, and all their 90s-productions were not hardtrance. It's only lately that they have started to take their sound to slightly harder levels (i.e. the Lethal Industry-remix),but that still doesn't classify them as hard trance IMO.

Perfect Phase make hard house, not hardtrance.(well at least Slammer Jammer was hardhouse)You can easily tell that by the beats they use and those typical helium rap sample.

Posted by mto on Jun-05-2003 11:39:

Ok I won't comment any of that. I'll leave Picotto as undefinable, however I still believe he is Hard-Trance/Dark Euro Tech Trance .. but for the purposes of this thread he doesn't have to be.

Svenson & Gielen, are indeed influenced by hard trance as you said Leaper and yes 'Afer All' and few recent remixes they did aren't AND I NOTED THAT IN MY POST. Some of the recent stuff however did get harder, and i still know they had some harder stuff in the past. I'm not really a fan of theirs, but I've heard few of their sets from the past and it sounded very much like HT.

And leaper, Slammer Jammer is more Hard house but Perfect Phase is so diverse in their work. I have quite a few sets from their shows in Germany, New Zeland, and USA and most if it, if not all, is hard trance.. but I agree lots of hard-house influence as well.

Hey, thank you for making Yourself look like a JACKA$$, as you already have read above, YOU ARE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY WRONG. If you going to flame someone, make sure you are 100% correct, not 100% WRONG LIKE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW.
Even in his BXR Trancey days, Picotto was NEVER a Hard House NOR a HARD TRANCE DJ/Producer.

Komodo is a cheesy track but guess what, his fans DO NOT hate him for it,many actually still LOVE IT, it is a great track, I even throw it into my sets once in awhile, not to mention that Mauro just played here in LA few months ago and he played it, and when he comes to my Club RED in Hollywood on July 4th, he'll also be playing it(a friend of mine who, to quote him, "listens, breathes, eats, shxts techno 24hrs a day" is a very good friends with Mauro's Manager, and asked if Mauro would play that track and manager said for sure!!!)))

Didn't you notice that Picotto has left BXR quite awhile ago??? guess who signed him? One of the BEST TECHNO labels out there, PRIMATE.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND USE YOUR BRAIN BEFORE YOU USE YOUR TONGUE OR YOUR FINGERS IN THIS CASE.

And at least have the balls to appologize for your mistakes!!! Just accept it, you are incorrect!!!!

About Scott Bond, I am only going by what he told me himself.
