The official HOW MUCH TIESTO LICKED ASS THREAD

That was horrible.
HIDEOUS you could say.
I dont know what to say.
honestly
the 3 'good' songs of the night were Tomcraft-Loneliness(ancient) Gabriel and Dresden-As the rush comes and Push

his set lacked emotion, direction and really just pissed me off.
we were still chanting his name and hes already downstairs in teh dressing room. lil bitch. No encore, didnt even stick around to wave to us. No pictures, autographs, thanks, nothing.
he lives up to his mega ego superstar rock dj now.
bitch.
if I had tix to edmonton(which I could) I wouldnt waste my time going.
I feel sorry for the couple going to Van to see him again.
right now, I hate tiesto. And not because I didnt get the JA TRANCE sign signed, but because that was quite possibly the worst performance Ive ever seen/heard from a Dj.

Ouch, hopefully he'll bring out his A game in Montreal. If not, oh well, I'll have Armin and Ornadel to console me, hahahaha.

Posted by torontotrance on Jun-05-2003 16:34:

he was horrid in december..i totally lost respect for him.

exact same thing

played 3 hrs instead of 4

turns up late

no emotion

runs off right after

Posted by .montecarlo. on Jun-05-2003 17:21:

hmmm, that's too bad...

i'll keep my faith for a good show in van though

Posted by dartrance on Jun-05-2003 18:15:

bah

the best two songs he played was hands down:

salt water - the legacy
darren tate - cola

but yeah i agreed he was bouncing all other the place, crowd was
loving it but it seemed tiesto was lacking his emotion, i was drunk so i had a good time LOL

Posted by apri_peel on Jun-05-2003 18:42:

maybe thats why someone threw straws at him in seattle :\

that will be extremely disappointing if he doesnt deliver a good performance in vancouver, everyone has high expectations for tiesto. will have to keep an eye on what edmonton TAs say. if he sucks, maybe i'll sell both my tiesto tickets to some suckers hehehehehe j/k

Posted by ChadVanDyk on Jun-05-2003 18:43:

I would only partially blame Testo. I take exception with the choice of venue for this event. He goes from Max Bell to the Tent at the Stampede to The Palace to The Whiekey...what's next...The Warehouse? I am sure that he didn't expect to be playing is such a tin can. He came, he played, he left. I personally went for the music which I enjoyed....the lack of an encore definitely pissed me off...but otherwise...the autographs, pictures and such...not too much of a worry for me. Hey....everyone has an off night. Too bad it was in Calgary this time.

Posted by kate on Jun-05-2003 18:59:

Sounds like PVD in Montreal IMO

Posted by Tony Morello on Jun-05-2003 21:49:

so i take it i didn't miss much

Posted by jesten on Jun-05-2003 22:24:

He was really good in Seattle. He stuck around for a long time signing autographs and stuff. Hmmm, sucks to be you guys.

Posted by Thierry on Jun-05-2003 22:40:

Maybe he hates Calgary :P He's an honorary Edmontonian hehehe. JK.

He always delivers when he's here, great tracks, awesome interaction and autograph sessions and the Joint is a huge venue for him. Should be awesome tonight but will let the rest of the ppl know what is up.

J-SPOT!!! we are in vancouver right now. I am having a hard time dissagreeing with you about tiesto. I was thoroughly dissapointed. I really worshiped tiesto and even though jez and i had our shit ready with sharppies TWICE he didn't sign. Didn't even THINK about an encore... common tiesto... whats the deal?? I dont' even know what to think about the vancouver show now.. but im deffinatly not going to have my hopes up!

Posted by exergo on Jun-06-2003 01:49:

just sold my 3 tiesto tickets for $200
so yeah, Long Beach is sounding soo much better right now

Posted by Vanilla on Jun-06-2003 03:10:

Well for the 4 1/2 hours I was there, the show kicked ass, maybe when I left things died off.

thats really too bad... specially for the people that were pumped up for while to go. I should have just gone to ozzy

Posted by <tuss> on Jun-06-2003 12:42:

yeah id say he's a bitch fo sho. it was'nt like he just walked off from the decks, he fuckin jogged away like a little girl. and he ended at like fuckin 2:30, did'nt start til 12:30, a 2 hour set is gay, especially when he could have easily played a 3 hour set. next time i see tiesto he's gettin a fuck you from calgary tomato in the face! lol. yeah j-spot, never expected to hear tomcraft, why the fuck would you play that? and matanka - lost in a dream (push mix) was wicked to hear, same with igor s - boomerang since mauro played it too, that tune stomps. overall though i had a ton of fun, should of had a sign that says 'corsten wipes the floor with you', cuz he pretty much does imo.

ya mon.

Just talking to my buddy Steve who works for B&H and was at both the Edmonton and Calgary shows. Apparently he played a very different set in Edmonton, and this is coming from a guy that doesn't really listen to trance at all. Obviously had an off night in Calgary, sucks for you guys.

I guess I'm the first E-towner to post after the show...

Firstly, the sound at the joint was awful, it made all the tracks sound off key, very annoying. Also, it was completely packed which made it annoying if you wanted to dance.

So Tiesto shows up at about 11:15 PM. I'm thinking: Great, we're going to get a nice long set from him. He starts at around 11:30 I believe, not too sure. He starts with Magic Journey Intro, Junkie XL - Red Pill, Blue Pill... some absolute stormers.

After that, it kinda dropped off. He seemed really into it and it looked like he was enjoying himself quite a bit. His set, on the other hand, lacked flow and just didn't really go anywhere, though the mixing was pretty good.

Then, at around 1:45, he puts his headphones away, drops Barber's Adagio for Strings (Tiesto Remix) and then takes off. What a bastard!!!

I did have a fun time last night, but Tiesto really pissed me off. I was expecting so much more from the "#1 DJ in the World," and I honestly feel a little bit ripped off.

I thought his edmonton set was absolutely awesome. He played for ~2 hours which is pretty good. Man when he dropped lethal industry and adagio for strings I was in heaven. I really like the set overall, although I agree that it was a little hard to hear the songs for what they were with so much bass. I also agree that you could barely move around because it was so busy. At least the atmosphere was good.

hehe yes, I like trance.. Maybe I'm not as big a PVD fan as you, considering your name is PVDrules! I think it was a combination of Preach's set being so awesome and banging right before his, him getting on late and finishing early, and playing some cheeze. I don't see how you can say it's the best set you've ever heard at all.

*shrug*

Posted by Boss Drums on Jun-06-2003 22:37:

in edmonton, some of what he played:

dirty sticky floors
magik journey intro
jxl - red pill, blue pill
tiesto - obsession (biazzi mix)
orbit - barbers adagio (tiesto remix)
rank 1 - airwave (breathing) 2003 breaks mix
conjure one - tears from the moon (tiesto mix)
roc project - never
motorcycle - as the rush comes
darude - next to you

couldn't be too many more...he didn't play for very long at all

added: dj tiesto - lethal industry
dj ton tb - electronic malfunction
mike - turn off the lights

I'm with J_spot on this, we talked a bit about this at the afterparty and yeah he did suck serious hairy ass.

I have no desire to see him again, I can't see myself paying for a ticket to see this guy. I mean this is the second time in a row he ran off stage and ignored the fans waiting for an oppertunity to get a freakin autograph.

Either he's just an ego maniacal guy now, or he's just plain stupid for not appreciating his fans who pay good money and show up every time he's in town.

I sat at my table most of the night and I was thinking about playing cards at the table cause I was so bored.

Thankfully the place was packed with stupidly hot women, except there was this 6"4 thing that I'm certain was a transvestite, so that was entertaining anyhow.
