What do you use?
Now we've all read the flame wars that go back and fourth with people arguing whats better.
But what do you use?
Personally I have
two ADJ PS2 and would of gone vinyl if I had the money. But records just cost 2 damn much.
Vinyl. But i got my start with mp3 and computers. I have mucked about with CD players too, and i'd like to get some.
HOWEVER, CDs are just as expensive, at least if you are legit about it.
vinyl...
its reasonably expensive and can be hard to get hold to (compared to dodgy cdrs).
But its best for mixing with, and has a great warmth in the sound (yer right..
).
vinyl and cds
i use the pc only for recording mixes or backinup vinyls

i was first strictly vinyl then because of money i went strictly to cds then i realized you can get better songs on vinyl quicker so now i am currently using both during my sets. during a set its prolly 70% vinyl 30% cd

Ooooooo having hookups in the Income Tax field is sooooooooooo good. |
I dont think you need a business license if you are self-employed, Ill ask my boss. But dude... If you write off more than you made... that means you had money coming in from elsewhere. If you spend $4000 on equipment and you only made $2500... where did the other $1500 come from? Than questions arrise: Are you cheating the government? Are you making money that the government doesnt know about? Got tax evasion?

Hmm very true. Totally forgot about that stuff.
Vinly here
started with a double cd deck,and after a while I bought 2 TT's.
So my set now is: 2X CD,2X vinyl
only vinyl...
it's good to see that vinyl is winning
I use my my vinyl 80 percent of the time. but use my Pro-Scratch 1's for the songs I dont have on vinyl, along with rare stuff as well.
cds
currently i use numark axis 8's, but if i ever sell them ill be buying the new denon's.

IMO vinyl will never dissapear, i dont think that even devices as final scratch will replace it, i think a dj should use cds vinyls mp3s, whatever he likes, but vinyl will be betewen the first choices of every beginer
its like when tv was invented, ppl said nobody would listen to the radio anymore, but...

I use CD's but will eventually save enough for Vinyl. I use the crappiest of the crap. A basic stanton s-250 CD setup with a basic mixer (it doesn't even allow me to have a cue pan, just a switch that are for ch1,ch2 and cue)
Personally there are goods and bads about both, well for financial reasons, CD's are more affordable since most of the songs are online(you didn't hear this from me). I mean you pretty much can't buy the CD with the single traxx that you need, mainly their ripped from vinyl. As for flexability, Vinyl can be very felxible for Dj'n, but the downside is the difficulty of looking for vinyl and buying it.
Pure vinyl...
Haven't figured out how to dj with programs since I use 2 hands with switching eq's
I bought my CD decks first (Pioneer CMX 3000), and used them for a few months before I a Technics 1200 two days ago. I only bought one to start, and after one day and night, I can't wait to get a second. Spinning vinyl is just more fun.
i only use vinyls but i would have a pionner cdj 1000 if i could afford one but generally i dont like many of the other cd decks but i havent used any much so i wouldnt say vinyl is any better really but it does feel to me like u get more control over corrections and stuff with vinyl
