My First Track

Hi Everybody.

This is my first attempt to produce a "real" song. Comments are very welcome!!

Here we go:

(I hope that link works)

...more 2 come!

I must say, for a frist attempt to make a "real song," you certainly have done better than i did. Ok, you really need percussion. Try layering multiple hihats together. Great work with effects man. I think one thing you should do, is make a build. No trance is complete without a build, save prog. Also, i think you are trying to just cram in as many fills and leads as you can, which isnt really a good idea. You have some great ideas in here, just they all leave so fast.

Hey not bad, the track as a hole was good. The production was nice and the feel of it was right, the only thing i would say is that it needed to be warmer, with the mix, i think you could get alot more punch out of it. If ya dont mind me askin what kit do you use?

Ace!

Evacuate is some hard-ass dope shit. Sounds like a real Floor rocker. Good show, bro!

My First Track

Hi Everybody.

Thank you for your comments and sorry for the late answer.I will remember your suggestions for my next production(s).

@ nic01445: What exactly do you mean with "layering multiple hihats together" ?? I include different fills/leads because I don't want to make a boring track. But you're right. It's not necessary to make an interesting track. I try to realize that. Thanx for your comment!

@ ABSYNTH: What exactly do you mean with the "kit" ?? Drum kit?? Do you think the transitions between the different song parts are too hard?? Any suggestions?? Thanx for your comment!

no no, that isnt what i meant at all. it IS necessary to have an interesting track, otherwise no one would listen to that track. I just think you are trying to cram in too many things into this track, so it sounds messy and amateurish.

about the layering multiple hihats, i guess i just mean some more hihats lol. I think it could use more percussion in general. And using adding more hihats helps.

hehe No we have a little missunderstanding here ;-) I meant that so many fills/leads are not necessary to make an interesting track. That's what I tried to say.

by the way: how can I get my logo above on the left side like yours??

I'll download it now and give it a listen when I get home tonight. I've just started making my first song so it'll be good to see how other beginners are doing.

The song is called "The Green Sky" yes? But what are you calling yourself?

Hi there.

Thanx for downloading my song. So when you've finished your track, please post it in the forum.

Well, I called my project originally "Trancer-Productions" but when I was surfing this forum I realized that here is another producer who's calling himself "DJ Trancer". So I tried to prevent any irritations by calling myself here in the forum "TheMixMaster". My website is also called "www.Trancer-Productions.de" (not finished yet).

Greetz,

TheMixMaster

Not a problem. It'll be a while before I'm finished anything. I'm a total beginner, and I'm still not very familiar with the software (Reason).

Posted by TheMixMaster on Jun-12-2003 11:16:

Oh great! I'm using Reason (Ver. 2.0) too! It's for the first time very confusing but with a little training it's very comfortable and powerful!

I'm looking forward to your song!

That's reassuring, because I'm still at the "confusing" stage.

Argh! Don't say that!! I don't even know if I'll ever get anything finished, and even then it'll be offensive to everyone's ears

Oh well, practise makes perfect I guess...

IF you have done it with Fruityloops: good avarage basic trance tune.

If you have done it with Reason: you have great potential, good track man!

Thank god I have done it with Reason! I have no experience with Fruity Loops. I heared about it but I never used it. How do you create tunes with Fruity Loops??

Thank you for your comment!!

By the way: I created a track with some Star Wars samples. What's about the copyrights?? Can I post that song here without problems???

Yeah, no problem at all.

As for your song - I'm very impressed! I agree with Nic when he said you need more percussion. You've definitely got enough elements here to make the song longer - just buildup the song gradually instead of indroducing everything so quickly. Very very good though.
