I've seen this twice and I LOVE IT

and just by accident, I found the soundtrack here, so I bought it, and the music is amazing, powerful classical music!!

Hmm.. It's good, but basically it is a ripp-off of L. Carol's Alice in Wonderland, a la nippon. Basically, I still prefer Myazaki's older (and greater works) like Mononoke Hime, Nausicaa, or even Laputa...

Spirited Away was a great movie...

I still love Tonari no totoro. Omosiroi desu yo. Reminds me of when I was a kid, everything was so innocently sweet, just like that movie. Porco Roso (a.k.a. Crimson Pig) was also a very moving film similar to those.

i thought the movie was awsome. it was some really trippy japanese psychadelic shit. im not gonna watch the movie again unless im high.

I loved "Spirited Away", and although commercializing it a little, the oscar was kind of cool.
If you enjoyed spirited away, you might want to check out "princess mononoke" & "nausicaa & the valley of the wind", both from the same director.

laputa is my favorite of all times...

Spirited Away blew me away. My knowledge of anime was very limited before watching this movie. I can safely say this is one of my favourite movies ever, anime or not.

I have to thank the people in this forum, especially Sothis for bringing my atttention to this great classic!

It was a little fucked up.

but quite the tale.

Buying the dvd this weekend.

I think it was a strong movie, not as good as Mononoke, but still a fun watch...definitely yards beyond any of the Disney crap that pollutes most theatres...

Was lucky enough to catch both of those films in theatrical runs incidentally, and the animation is even more breathtaking in the large format...

The story was great- rivals the original Alice in Wonderland. All the different creatures were fantastic. Definitely worth watching!

spirited away = good. reminds me of neverending story, but better. no-face was the best character i think.

btw for anyone who likes anime, i recently built an anime recommendation database tool for the site i made for the hub i download anime in... its fairly new so there arent a huge amount of votes, but if you are interested, let me know and ill give you the info/link.

(so basically, youd go pick "spirited away" from the list, for example, and youd see a list of the top 5 series people think you would like, if you like that. etc)

Thumbs up

I bought the DVD because I wasn't able to rent in my local video store - they only have one copy & it's always out . To tell you the truth , I expected a little more from the story line , the animations are amazing thou . So my final score for this feature is : 8/10 .

all i remember is a huge baby and 3 bouncing heads and some guy that became a dragon.

wasnt too into it as you can see. seems like miyazaki was high or something when he made this...
