New Hybrid album!!!!!!

(Quoted from trance.nu)

Hybrid's new album, Morning Sci-fi (part recorded in Russia and part recorded at their Swansea based studio in Wales), sees collaborations with NYC based DJ/remixer John Creamer, Kirsty Hawkshaw and The Hermitage String
Orchestra, St Petersburg.

Also featured is New Order member Peter Hook, looked upon by many fans around the world as one of the worlds best bass players, witch has co-produced and collaborated exclusively with Hybrid, on the two tracks 'True to Form' and 'Higher than a Skyscraper'.

Hybrid is really crossing genres with this release and really shows the true meaning of "progressive";
Morning Sci-fi offers a crossbreed of beats, electronic, rock and of course, Hybrid's trademark orchestral sound.

Chris Healings has this to say about the upcoming album;
"We've been listening to absolutely anything other than dance music. I suppose that is because dance music is so ingrained into what we do naturally. We've been listening to stuff like The Doves, Radiohead, Soulwax, New Order and lots of jangly indie guitar bands and classical music, particularly the work of Arvo Part and Alexander Gretchaninov."

Having wowed both Miami Winter Music Conference and Fabriclive, with their new live set up, Hybrid have introduced two unique talents - Adam Taylor (lead vocal and guitar) and Tim Hutton (bass) with original live member Alex Madge (drums).

Hybrid has already given the fans a great teaser from this album with their release of Gravastar & Celebrity Science, witch has been hammered by all the big ones.

I SOOO can't wait for this one... definitely the most innovative electronic act I have ever come across...

I think many people will be disapointed with this album.

I love it, but unfortunately for some, Hybrid have taken on a new lead and direction from Wide Angle, and because of that, this album probably won't be recieved all that well.

i wouldn't want an artist to stick to the same style forever. music producers are indeed artists, and artists grow and change as time goes by. bring the album on.

Completely agreed!

It's interesting because being a musical artist seems to be a damned if you do, damned if you don't proposition...

If you stay with the same sound all your fans will bitch and moan because you never try anything new...see the complaints people still lodge about Chicane's BTS because of the 'in-between' tracks similarities to those found on FFTMC.

Then, on the other hand, if you change things up significantly half of your fans are suddenly going WTF?! and abandoning you...

Personally, I can't wait to hear this new album by Hybrid and see what their new sound is like, if the tracks that've been out for awhile are any indication this album is going to be another winner in my book...

Have the album already - it's very, very mellow. Enjoyable, but nothing spectacular.

They are playing here in San Fran on Sunday (and both BT & Deep Dish play here on Saturday at different locations) on a yacht party which I might go to (since I have access to tickets), but I'm wiped from my three days of partying this past weekend and might give it a pass so I am fresh for Sandra Collins (the 19th), Dave Seaman (the 20th), and Pvd (the 21st) next weekend....

The greatest artists can change/evolve their styles without losing quality. I believe Hybrid fits this description. I can't wait to hear the new album/traxx!
