Ive been off school since mid april, and ive been looking since. Tried everything, all the job websites, new paper classified sections...askiing people. im all out of ideas, and need to make some money for university.

| [i][b]and yea there's already a thread about this somewhere.. juss do a search for "*job* *search*" in the TA search , search field .. it should give u the right search info .. |
oooh woow so Iam not the only one who is loking for a damn job!!
I dont know whats going on in this city,is it really that hard to find a job??or should I blame the sars situation or economy as an excuse??
but this is scary in a way, because I know ALOT of people that cant find jobs for the summer!!(specialy guys)
Iam really about to give up,I mean how much damn experience do they need to hire someone??
but is it only guys that have this problem??to me at least it seems that way, because almost all the girls I know got no problems finding jobs!!
well In a way Iam relieved that Iam not the only one with this problem.
or maybe Iam just not lucky enough to find a job.

We need to resurrect Az's job thread...
is there something about TA that doesnt let people find jobs??? cuz im kinda lookin for a daytime job......i only work 2 nights a week and i want those two nights back!!! or even just the saturday back..ill still work fridays!! anything!!! but ya im looking also....
I actually got fed up and was thinking about starting my own business.
Alas, I have no marketing/business skills.... and it ended at the thinking stage.
i'm starting to become under the impression that
connects = job
no connections = no job
i finally got an interview for another part time job cause my current one is only giving me 4 hrs a week! only reason why i'm getting the interview for this job is cause my friend works there and my dad knows a manager.

Yeah, things are really bad for everyone our age. Myself and my friends graduated from U of T this spring, only me and 1 other person that I know (out of maybe 30) actually has a full-time job. A few more have summer jobs, but most are scraping by on part-time mcjobs, or are planning to go back to school.
Hopefully things will only be like this until the US economy recovers. Now everyone has stopped spending money because they are afraid of losing their own job, which makes things worse for everyone.

Three words: dot com crash.
Toronto was hit absolutely brutally, and this year is the worst so far. Don't think it doesn't affect you if you're not in an IT field, either - now you have those skilled IT workers competing for the same cashier and entry-level jobs because they just can't get anything else...
Fortunately I have a good job with a small company, but it should come as no surprise that it's because of connections. I applied to other companies just for the hell of it (to network, get my name out there, etc.), and have a pretty beefy resume, but got zero response. It's killer out there. If you want a job, get yourself a degree and go down to the USA!
Also, I'll repeat what's been said before: Monster, Workopolis, and most job search/resume posting boards are truly terrible. By using them, you're putting yourself in the one place where you know there is the most competition and the least amount of "personal touch." You really have to make your own job - ask everyone you know if they know anyone...
connections .. ? yepps .. i got my job thru Endlesswave.. and he got his job thru .. wells i'm not allowed to say .. but yea connections nonetheless..
good luck to all!
(i've heard offering prayers to Swamper works as well)
Frigin Wal-Mart refuses to hire me!
ugh...watch me work at Wonderland! Just watch me!
well, i just landed a monkey-job, going to different department stores, and scanning the barcodes of all the products for inventory.
Its not the job i hoped for, but I need to pay the rent by the end of the month, so I'm kinda desparate. :P
I don't have a job, will welcome any suggestion and I am losing my nerves a little. I have experience with computers, networks and I can do physical stuff to, so someone send me a pm if you have suggestions
