After seeing shots of inside the museum (everything became rubble), I wonder how its not AS bad as first stated? Even the special cultural advisor (exact title?) to the Bush adm. resigned...
anyways, I really hope it wasn't as bad, but I'm quite pessimistic.
Mind you i'm not trying to bash the US, after all its some stupid uneducated (and hungry) Iraqis that broke and stole these stuff...

Do you know whats even worse?
That Iraqi civilians even looted some atomic storage facilities that housed radioactive substances in containers.
If the US was so adament in removing "weapons of mass destruction"... you would think that radioactive materials would certainly be confiscated so they wouldnt leek out into the population... but it is evident they have other priorities on their agendas.

Bush is totally doing something different now to look good, but it seems to be worstening things between palestinians and israelis..and the economy, its a joke. 2004 2004 2004 2004!!
Anyways, some valuable pieces have been returned, Im happy for that.

But it was Bush' responsibility to have a post-war plan in case something like this would happen.

The President is the commander of all U.S. military operations. He had to know about something like this.

It wasn't Bush's responsibility to think of Iraqi museum looters in the post-war era. Like Occrider said, It would be the responisibility of Cmdr. Tommy Franks, considering he is the highest ranking officer in the "hot zone". It would, technically, also be the responsibility of the man the U.S. chose to facilitate the rebuiling of Iraq.
