Thumbs up Pioneer Releases New Cdj1000mk2

JUNE 12th, 2003 Building on the phenomenal worldwide success of the CDJ-1000 digital deck, Pioneer continues to change the face the DJ Industry with the launch of the CDJ-1000MK2.

Since its introduction 2 years ago the CDJ-1000 has achieved industry standard status in clubs, bars and studios all around the world. It is also carried by the worlds finest performers, including Roger Sanchez who says: With the CDJ-1000, I get the same precision of mixing as I did with vinyl, plus features like looping, Master Tempo and Hot Cues. Id tell any DJ using vinyl to try the CDJ-1000. Its revolutionised the way I play. Many other DJ superstars have similar opinions, including DJ Laurent Garnier who claims: The CDJ-1000 is the only CD turntable worth standing next to a vinyl deck.

Working as closely as ever with many of these star performers, Pioneer is now taking the art of digital DJing to new heights with the introduction of the CDJ-1000MK2. With the same design and layout as the CDJ-1000, the sleek and polished looks of the MK2 are made unique by the addition of a subtle silver rim on the Jog Dial. But its on the inside where the real enhancements have been made.

The latest Jog Dial is fine-tuned to increase sensitivity, creativity and control for DJs, so that cueing, scratching and stretching a track in Vinyl or CDJ mode feels smoother and easier than ever before. And, recognising the importance of manual Pitch bending, Pioneer has made even finer adjustments to the units tempo control function to make it more accurate than ever before. The CDJ-1000MK2 boasts an outstanding internal memory feature too, allowing DJs to store Cue and Loop points as well as Pioneers innovative graphical wave data. All of this information can also be saved to a removable Multimedia Card (MMC) and because this is so popular with DJs, a MMC now comes free with every unit. And to add even more creativity to their sets, DJs can now use the improved Hot Cue function. This instantly memorizes and plays back up to three points per CD (via the A, B or C buttons) and can be used as a mini-sampler for vocals, stabs or breaks.

Since only the highest quality components are used inside its compact frame, the MK2 will please club owners too its robust enough to survive the toughest knocks and small enough to fit just about anywhere. And theres the added advantage of an optional purpose-built bracket to easily mount the space-saving CDJ-1000MK2.

The units world-beating features include:
Fine-tuned Jog Dial for improved sensitivity, creativity and control
100% Wide Pitch Control allows beat matching of any track and creates new sound effects
Hot Cue new instant memory for playback of up to 3 cue points per CD
Extra Bright Display see track info more clearly and use key features more quickly
Full Feature Digital Out now all sound control features can be connected to a digital environment
Free Removable Multimedia Card - for storing cues, loops, wave data, etc

All this, plus existing unique features, such as Quick Scratch, Loop In / Out Adjust makes Pioneers CDJ-1000MK2 the worlds No.1 digital deck.

The CDJ-1000MK2 keeps Pioneer at the forefront of technological change within the DJ industry. More and more professionals are now turning to digital, thanks to the unrivalled reputation and success of the CDJ-1000. And DJs will continue to stay ahead of the game and benefit from Pioneers innovations with the feature-packed CDJ-1000MK2.

Fucking amazing, hopefully this drops the $1000 price tag for the cdj1000. I want one so bad, but the price is a joke.

peace,

Steve

Danik, your gonna hook me up with one of those right?

Posted by Vlad on Jun-13-2003 00:28:

HappyHappy

There is no better gear @ the moment and it will prolly only get better . I recommend it for everybody ... and I do hope they drop the price

i've seen some pricing on this, and you can expect it to be a bit cheaper than the existing 1000. of course, that may be just an initial ploy to attack the denon, but time will tell

wow...
i must admit... those cdj's look so nice...
i mean look at that colour lighting complexion...nice
someone did their homework.
LoL I bet i could probably just watch one of those things work for hours... haha jokes.
I think these cdjs can really do the job for mixing, and looks like their improving the scratching on them too. Well here's some serious fire between denon and pioneer... also looks like cdj's will soon hit mainstream in the future. Even though many people use them already.

Dj Tranz, do you know if the platter spins like the Denon does?

There was no mention of it anywhere. I'll look further into it.

Posted by Vlad on Jun-13-2003 05:01:

Danik, hook me up, like BIG time.

Me too, I still like the Denon, Vlad, which ever one you choose, you know I'll hook U up!!! . Cheers...

Price issue: I think this is why pioneer has the rebates on CDJ800 and CDJ1000==New model CDJ which most likely be around $1199.99

I want one of these so bad
but the price
err im not that rich...
do u think after this one will be released the cdj100s will be cheaper?

Posted by Mister_Michel on Jun-13-2003 12:05:

Great, I hope the prices of the original cdj1000 and from the cdj800 AND from the Denon will go down

Hmmm, feel like robbing a bank right now

Posted by tubby on Jun-16-2003 00:26:

the original model of the 1000 is being discontinues, so you might be able to haggle some dealers over there existing stock. There's also a rebate in the US that only applies to the mk 1's

Yeah, but only in +/-16 mode Still only 0.02 best accuracy. Good, but still not quite a match for Technics IMO...

Why can't they bring out a CDJ500s replacement with more accurate pitch?

Posted by Narcissus on Jun-18-2003 11:29:

I heard the new CDJ 100 is due out soon as well. Any idea?

Posted by DJ Tranz on Jun-18-2003 19:11:

Here are some more pics of CDJ1000MK2!
