Would be grateful for any links. many thx.
What about DC++ in passive mode? It should work even if you're behind a firewall.
(Sent you a PM with 2 direct links)
no that won't work. nothing will not work. no icq, no messenger, not even kazaa thro port 80. There were loads of virus travelling around the uni campus net and so it has been restricted to page browsing only except for web links. these seem to work but nothing else will. I've tried almost evry single program and spent hrs but i've finally given up. so just rely on direct link downloads instead now.
thx for your advice anyway.
Thanks for links u kindly PM d to me. Gr8 track!
Have you tried changing the port number? I have a firewall and DC, Kazaa and the rest work fine for me. Up and down. Hope that helps =)
Scott
yep tried that. nothing works. there are some very skilled bastards working for the computing dept of this uni!!
so just seeking mp3 links now please.
Maybe this thread could become a sticky? As we are know there is almost a new post everyday enquiring about the DC &*. so this would be a good way for them to get to sample all the latest, greatest tracks? especially as the new download section of the website is only updated once every couple of months. (no offence swampy, i do understand you do have a life beyond editing web sites etc!)
Just a suggestion anyway.

why the fuck dont u just buy them ffs!
the whole point of putting the mp3 section on TA is so you can hear before you... BUY!
once again, if we distribute direct download links, we will get canned in no time. besides, it's not that easy to get hosting space with a lot of bandwidth.
i think a better solution for us would be to come up with a way to defeat the firewalls, since so many people seem to be having problems with that
and yes, too many people think mp3s are just for downloading and replacing buying - but sometimes it's so nice to go out and get a cd of your favorite artist IN BETTER QUALITY

definately, downloading is to listen to something in full and then buy the original. which helps the artists to keep makin more tunes. i hate the people who have the latest tunes simply cos they download them and burn them to cdr. its disgraceful. they think. oh its only one person it doesnt matter. but what if everyone had that view

.double post oops
To the ppl who posted the negative comments. you are all being pretty arrogant and jumping to conclusions. 1/As a cd collector since the age of 12 i have way over 5000 cds. mostly dance ones. Therefore, i saw no point in forking out for vinyl decks and got cd ones instead.
So i mix with cds right? well come 1998 (i think, could be earlier or later), the rules relating to cd singles in the uk were changed so that a cd is allowed no more than 3 tracks in total or is allowed 4 mixes but still must be under 20 mins long in total.
http://www.tucktop20.co.uk/cin.html <<<<<<<<
As a result most cd singles only contain edits of the full length mixes. This is no problem where the record company aknowledges what the dance community wants and so chops off a few mins here and there to make the mix slightly shorter but still mixable , e.g. kosheen - catch; the hiver and hammmer remix was edited to around 6/7 mins to so that it could fit on the cd and a radio edit didn't have to be used.
However, most dances cd have crappy radio edits. the original mix of urban train on the uk cd single was less than 3 mins long. That's dispicable given the full length version is over 10 mins long.
same with dt8 - destination single, infact almost every single. As i'm sure most ppl would, for mixing purposes, i only buy cds with the full length versions. Also, some of the stuff is I want is never even released on cd. far less trance cd singles are released than vinyl per week. and some stuff is not even released, to my knowledge second sun's stuff has never been released on cd single in the UK.
According to your theory, no one should buy promo vinyls as the artist gets fuck all royalties for ppl buying them; promo sales go unaccounted for.
Besdies, I didn't ask what's the most effective way i can rip-off an artist, i simply asked has anyone got any download links so i can sample the latest tunes? What's the problem. if u want to debate mp3, go join a debating society or go to the philosophical forum
To everyone who has simply responded to my request. thank you

Well, check out www.juno.co.uk as they usually stock import CDs aswell including addictional remixes that dont make it to the UK singles
Also, if you were that much of a collector, then you would have realised CD's aren't the way forward in dance music. Vinyl is the main format. Always has been, always will be.

nobody will be posting any direct links to mp3's in here. it is against the forum rules.
