who went?
this event wayyyy exceeded my expectations, there was a very decent amount of people there and great tunes.. for a poorly advertised event this did really well
signum were nothing short of amazing! their tune selection and mixing was spot on, and were both really into the crowd and music. pascal really looks like paul van dyk :P
their set was right up there with the best of them in my opinion..
lashes was her usual hard as nails self, however i really wasnt in the mood for that style of music... i wanted more signum!
she did however have the place going mental and her talent behind the decks is some of the best i've seen.. she really does love her music!
only caught bits of the other djs, they werent up to the standards of the above two though..
managed to catch up with signum, and what stipsy mentioned in another thread about them coming back in december is true.. they will def be back here... and they are hoping it will be another full tour (perth included!)
also, signums tune which has been named cosmos on the net is actually going to be called 'push through' and will be released late august
sleep time for me!
I took some time out of studying for exams to check this event out.
This has got to be one of the worst promoted/marketed and disorganised events of recent years - so I was completely surprised at the number of people who showed up to it (the main floor of metros was full but not overly packed and they had the VIP balcony in operation - funny that there was no "chill out" balcony as advertised??)
Got there at 12:30 so missed the first 1/2 hr of signum. I really enjoyed the set by signum - it was totally uplifting, however I would have prefered them to close out the night. The also played the new System F track Spaceman which was kick ass
.
Lisa Lashes was OK i guess, the crowd seemed to enjoy her set - but HH isnt really my thing.
Dave Lee played a split set , 1 hr after signum - then closed out the night after lisa lashes (i think??). Cant really comment on his set(s) as I left at around 5am, and didnt really get into his first hour.
Let downs for the night - there were plenty unfortunately...
(1) the over proportion of inebriated assholes that always push and shove to get past - and dance like fuckheads poking you with their elbow/hands/feet etc... particularly prevelent when Signum were playing
(2) the number of undercover cops asking for "wicked pills man" - three different cops asking within the space of 2mins
(3) to have some lineup times published before the night
(4)Id say a large portion of the people there could be classified into the category of 'rise ravers/clubbers' - people from perth or know about Rise nightclub will know what I mean.
All in all an OK night - but nothing too memorable
