Plastic Boy - Live Another Life (Trancer-Productions Remix)

Hi Everybody.

This is my remix of "Live Another Life" from Plastic Boy. I don't know the original track so I created the song according to my thoughts. Did the original track have any vocals included??? If yes, I'd like to have them for my remix (if possible).

I'd like to hear any comments about the track. Feel free to announce any suggestions.

You can download the song here:

Save File as...

By the way: Can somebody post the link of the original track again??

Thanx,

TheMixMaster

Hi Costa ;-)

What do you mean with "Solarstonish"?? Do you mean the Producers "Solar Stone"?? Wasn't "Speak in Sympathy" made by them??

OK, first off : you've never heard the original? and clearly don't know much about Solar Stone (yes they made Speak in sympathy but give Solarcoaster, Seven cities, Destination (with Sirocco) and 3rd earth (with Scott Bond) a listen very fast!)

I'll get the track then tell you what I think

u forgot Release.. now that's a superb tune

willing to hear this plastic boy rmx, but just can't right now

I was pleasently surprised here, well done. There are no vocals btw so don't worry about that. I agree with Costa, the lead does remind of Solar Stone. I would change a couple of things in the assline though, you cut it in some parts and it kills the flow imo

I'll download, and give it a listen when I get home.

I think it's good that you've made this without listening to the original, as you won't be influenced by it and (hopefully) it will be something totally different from it...

Oh, and check your pm's by the way...

Thanx for the comments. What exactly do you mean with "cut it in some parts"?? Is the bassline too unrythmic??

Well i will have to hear this off all the feedback, i can't right now but i will later on or tomorrow as plastic boy's track is brilliant

I would gladly host it for you but im only on 56k and have a shitty free hosting package...sorry mate... , its all over the EMC Direct Connect hub tho try there...

Yeah the track sounds great, especially for not hearing the original i like that bass sound, very "square" lol and also the startup percussion fx following the kick drum, nice work and i hope you get to hear the original one day!

keep up the good work!

Thank you guys for the comments. I appreciated it!!

But I still have a question: I've read several times here something about "mastering a song". What exactly is meant with this? I use Reason and isn't mastering when I export the finished song into an audio file?? I guess I'm wrong with that, right??? cAn somebody explain??

mastering is after exporting your track into an audio file. it's made usually on a separate program, and it consists mostly on compressing technics, to make the track smoother.

A good program 2 use for mastering your tracks is T-Racks, the good thing being that it has alot of very nice presets and is easy 2 learn on, then when you get the hang of it, it is even better. if you PM me i should be able 2 send you a copy.

Downloading yr mix now.

Posted by TheMixMaster on Jun-21-2003 17:13:

Thank you!! I hope I can update the track with a mastered version.

Well, it was quite easy. I imported the midi file and built a song around it

Now seriously: I think it is not too bad not to know the original 'cause you can do a remix without being influenced by the original. Well. As you can see I can't answer your question satisfying. I just made it lol
