John O'Callaghan - Volcano (Bren-F Remix)
Hello People
Yet another remix from me.
This was a difficult one due to the fact that I have never heard the original version of this track (When are you gonna finish it and post it John ? )
John just sent me the midi file and asked if I would remix it.
And so I did
I warn you, it's no-where near as good as the 'Icone' Remix, but I gave it a good shot, I think there are some good elements to this track and has some potential.
But I'll let you all be the judge of that
Let me know what U think.
*has just got himself 100MB of webspace to add to his exisitng 60MB for only 4 a month & is currently chuffed to bits
*
Downloading now.
For your information Bren-F, I have 500 MB of webspace on my site www.kompulsor.com, so... eat that
/After listening - Man, I love your arpeggios! I recall you used those 'cascades' in your last track, too. However, while certainly well-produced, you could have picked a more interesting set of notes for the "top" of that arpeggio (the lead). I could give you a phatter melody for that chord progression
anyway, nice work, and the bassline - as always - is cool! keep it up.
Great track, love the buildup and the drive in the track. Some really nice notes in the buildup too I think. The breakdown is awesome until the arpeggio comes in, the notes are cool but I don't like the instrument. It's sounds a bit weak I think, maybe if you added some extra reverb it would sound better
I like the rest of the track, can't think of anything moret o critisize
i think it simply kicks ass. Great work

no need to be modest mate, i'm sure it's just as good or better than my remix hehe
dl'ing now, i'll come back and comment later. just had an exam, have to get some sleep first
laterz,
LW
Downloading it now buddy.....
Shep
Ok im listening.......
The bassline is absolutley brilliant, love it! Love some of the percussion fills too! Good breakdown and mid-section...... The main lead
not my cup'o tea m8, sorry! The whole of the tune is bloody excellent though. I really feel the main tune lets it down!!
Overall buddy, top effort!
Shep
P.S. - Would I be able to remix this one!?
Grmbl... Why can't I edit posts anymore up here? I get this strange message when I try to edit a post/reply
The tune sounds good mate, only like Shepless said, the main sequence lets me down a bit. The rest is driving along neatly, as usual
Keep it up!
LW
Cheers for the comments guys
*mental note - work on a better lead next time*
hey, Lightworks....i know that name....
are you on the subtraxx forum?
i like the sequencing. your percussion could use some work in my opinion though...your kick was a bit clicky at the beginning...coming together better now...this is cool...
your bass could use some more umph...sounds too dry. some little stabbing effects in that first break would be kinda nice. good strings though. i'll agree, the melody is kinda lacking...the instrument's a pretty standard synth too, i'd like to see that expanded upon. some cool sounds, good sequencing...production wise it sounds good, but i'd experiment with it a lot more.

just downloaded it now, i love it bren cheers man. im gonna get this to a few djs so ill let you all know if theres any feedback

nice intro. I agree that the bass is kinda dry. Perhaps if u put like a really fat off-beat bass under it you could pull it off, but as is, its kinda bland. Nice work with those strings. i LOVE than panned 32nd lead riff. I like creamed myself when i heard it. I agree that the lead is kinda weak. nice work man.

Wow. This is fantastic, really loving it... I think the main lead is fine, Bren. I haven't heard the original, so I can't pass an opinion on any changes to the melody you may (or may not) have made, although personally I think it sounds fantastic. The whole track is pretty exciting, don't think it ever gets tedious in the slightest.
Really wanna go and hear the other versions of this track now...
Cheers for the comments guys
I'll take all those ideas on board when producing my next mix
Also look out tomorrow for my Dub Mix of let the light shine in (After Project T harassing me to do a dub
)
Phatter sound, bigger bass drum, extended piano breakdown, + piano melody & louder lead synth (after the requests from many of you, thanks
)
