Ya, which one is technically the most acurate. Ive always wondered how these things work.

Well, pitch comes from oscilation frequency, that is a numeric value of how much times the signal wave oscilates, so its detectable...

Stop making me feel stupid please

Im going to test these and see if any work :P

ehh, I tried the first one out and it was pretty average. It will only convert those that have one sound in them. So if there is a bassline or percussion or anything else, it won't recognise. I tried making a simple pattern myself and it was way off inreading that due to a slight delay in the sound.

If anyone has any luck with others, let us know

Hey, sorry, man! That was never my intention
Just trying to help... really sorry!

btw, there are many freeware tone detectors out there, u can also use one of these to detect the notes individualy till u get the full melody (troublesome, but if the others programs dont work... this may be a possible solution)

lol i was just kidding, hence the ''

I've tested a few of them and had no luck, on top of that they are really restricted.

You wouldn't happen to have a link to any of the individual tone detecters would you?

If anyone else has any luck be sure to let us know...

Read This!

well here we go:

1) Wav2mid is only in german language and I still can't find the link, even to try a demo

2) Sound2Midi is what I am getting now

ok, all of them downloaded
*more updates of the post to come *

as it seems, my pc likes to treat me like a fool (it won't let me edit the above post further, so I must write a new one which is what I am doing now )

Anyway, I give my repsect to all those people and companies who manage to create such proggies, but they are not what i am looking for.

I took some trance and house tracks (in .wav file format) to make some .mid files.

All that I managed to do was to destroy my excitement! These proggies are only for melody converting, though they f*ck it up enough, not for bassline also, something that really dissapoints me!

I thought they could create better midis than they do now!
