Maybe it was, but now they're shit.
For example, this release is pretty damn weak as well. None of the remixes could help it.

You know, the excessive use of the word "fuck" doesn't make you cool or badass.

hahahaha

"i know what the fuck electronic music is, and i know who was popular back then.."

indeed, popular at the pop charts...c'mon man, the start of the electronic music age doesnt even exsist I think, because computersounds were slowly integrated in whole music industry...Jean Michel Jarre is one of the first who really brought electronic impulses in the music..at least thats what i've heard..

what i know for sure is that the artists you mentioned are ppl who stole someone else idea's and made a simple commercial track of it. no respect..

I'm pretty sure that 666, Brooklyn Bounce, Klubbheads, Dj Jean didn't exist 10 years ago. they started being popular around 4, 5 years ago with pop crap cheese that infested the charts.

Posted by Muff2K on Jun-24-2003 00:49:

Weren't these guys Darude's inspiration for making his own musik??

umm..the thread about 666... so i made a few examples from that period of time...

and u probably didnt even know the word "cheese" back then... im sure..

and even eurodance was popular some time ago, and noone was calling it cheese, untill something new came out

yeah, u can call klubbheads cheese... but they were not back then... lots of ppl liked klubbheads, and the last set ive heard from them, was like from 2001 (i dont remember the exact date) and they were spinning TRANCE...

also, i think u guys shouldn't bashing those groups and djs, they were popular and famous... and probably some of you started listening to electronic music because of them. so have some respect

heh...when Darude's first album came out, lots of top djs spun the tracks from it... and everybody thought it was good... but now, everybody calls it cheese, and bashing Darude...

=)

who stole who's ideas?

I think lots of people stealing other ppl's ideas all the time, these days...

I think that his second album recieved a lot more praise than the first, i havent seen anyone call it 'cheese' or bag it because of that as of yet.

true, but that was not what i meant. The "producers" you mention didnt even created their own melodies. They stole it. Covered it. They made a track with it, with a very simple build up. it sounded good enough for the top40 crowd. And I hate these "producers" because they say they produce trance, but in fact its disgusting eurodance (cheese). Music made with the thought: how can i make money as fast as i can? they just dont deserve any respect.

Starting threads like this is such a pity. The quality of the boards going down every day it seems.

Fortunately there are enough people on the boards who really know what trance is.

They were spinning cheese. in 1999/2000 trance had very good years. - But as you stated before, the beginning of electronic music began with the klubbheads (from 2001 as you said) - Well, in 2001 some producers took some elements from trance and made this disgusting eurodance.

But I think this discussion is endless, cos you dont seem to know how dance music has developed..(i dont mean to say i know everything exactly, but i am dutch and i experienced everything from another distance than you did prolly.)

Teknikol.

well I admit I used to listen to a lot 666 and some Dj Jean.. but then again I used to listen to Britney Spears, Linkin Park or whatever was in the charts.
yes they did made me starting to listen to electronic music.. but they are still cheese. that's what cheese's made for. but still they keep giving a bad name to our scene, like Scooter.

Posted by vandit_freak on Jun-24-2003 11:52:

666 = very bad cheese crap
