YOUR chance to ask Paul Van Dyk!

As part of "The Weekend Warm Up" First Birthday show this Friday, we will have an interview with Paul Van Dyk!

Since TA's have been very supportive of the show, we would like to offer TA's the chance to get your question answered by PVD himself! All you have to do is either reply to this topic or send us an e-mail with the questions you would like to ask him. Paul will then be asked by us the top 5 questions selected by us in tomorrow night's interview!

You can hear the full interview tomorrow night on "The Weekend Warm Up" first birthday show between 8pm-10pm (BST). For more details, visit http://expage.com/theweekendwarmup

The members of PvDPlanet have come up with these questions:

1. I want to know why he chose the name Paul van Dyk. Well, the Paul makes sense to me but not "Van Dyk"
2. Ask him when he is going to start limiting his gigs? He can't have this schedule forever!!
3. Ask him where he still never played, but very much would like to play
4. Ask him what party it he considers(counts) as most exotic by way of the non-standard approach
5. Ask him what happened on the millenium party, about punching an annoying raver.
6. how about asking him why he never goes to Israel? I have a mate that would like to know why
7. Paul, how do you feel your sound as a DJ has changed over the years, and where do you see it going right now?
8. Why has he not toured Latin America, with the exception of Mexico? (Especially considering he loves Mexico--getting married there and also producing Zurdo). Isn't it a natural a extension to tour this uncharted (for him) continent where the electronic music scene is so vibrant and awaiting his arrival?
9. In recent months, as an electronic music dj, are you deliberately trying to incorporate more techno, house and breaks along with the banging trance you have always played? I truly hope so.
10. ask pvd if he will be playing the guitar on tracks for the new album
11. Has there ever been a point in your career that you considered calling it quits? If so, what has been your motivation to continue? If not, how do you keep your career fresh and exciting?
12. We know the stories/motivation for some of our productions. What is currently your biggest source of inspiration
13. What does your wife think about you being away so much? Or does she always travel with you?

good job sir
i always thought his real name was paul van dyk :P

Posted by whitesmoke on Jun-26-2003 20:39:

ask him if he can change his name so that it is easier to search for posts about him on the TA forums (3 letter words not allowed). i am sick of getting search results about oakie.

Siiiiiick! Here's a few that came up with on the top my head:

  1. What are you working on right now in your studio?
  2. Who would you say is your favorit DJ right now? Favorit producer?
  3. Where would you best classfiy yourself under the genre's of EDM?
  4. Your distinct style of prodcution has changed quite a bit in the past few years. What inspires these changes and where do you see your music five years from now?
  5. Where do you stand with the issue "drugs & dance culture"?
  6. What advice would you give n000b DJs that are trying to make a name for themselves?

Ever heard of using "quotation" ?

If anyone should change their name, it should be John00Flaming. That guy is almost imposible to search for. I wonder if he just named himself to make it harder on us to search for him on p2p clients.

john '00' fleming?

Exactly! He cancelled on us unfortunately and I NEED to hear him again! (First two times were awesome and my FIRST big party was when he came). Other celebrities and bands and "stars" come to TO in support of the SARS bit, I say Paul comes and does the same!

Posted by Doctorxx3 on Jun-27-2003 01:59:

my question:

...if he uses his toilettepaper three-fold or four-fold.

Posted by Clyde77 on Jun-27-2003 02:00:

when is he going to quit djing? (not that i want him to, just curious)

Posted by Swamper on Jun-27-2003 04:11:

Do you feel that there is a negative stigma/label attached to DJs who openly admit that they spin 'Trance' music?

Posted by alberth on Jun-27-2003 04:15:

When are we gonna see "little" Paul van Dyk?
