Loosing Energy?

I just wonder sometimes my sets seem to loose energy or rather get into an unexciting rut, I was jus wonder what are some techniques to help clear that up? I mean is it the fact that all the tracks are too epic or what help neone? Thanx in advance.

well track selection is a big part of it. You can't just play anthem after anthem as the builders are as important as the climaxes. If you can, try to mix out before the second breakdown to keep the energy up.

I do so, when i want to keep the energy high i start my mix immediately after the second breakdown and it works good.

Ya, I think that's the only "trick" to avoid losing energy... Allthough, the tracklist is important too cuz a quiet epic part can sound really well...

Use pretty techno tracks.

yep, mix straight after the last breakdown, or if you can, mix out during it

depends a lot what style ur mixing aswell, but just experiment, some tracks have intros that are begging to be placed in behind the last parts of the final climax...

if you get what i mean ;P

I do that alot too, it usually sounds pretty good... and then, after the breakdown, I kill the mid channel of the outgoing track giving an extra dimension to the climax of your incoming track.

On topic...
U may want to try "spicing up" your mix by putting in some hi-NRG trance tracks or techno and house tunes that really bust out and make crowd pleasers. Trance can sound bland after a while if you're not careful, make sure the tracks are varied and not "only" like regular trance or vocal trance that all have the same flow... bust ouut some high energy house and bam! You got the energy up and continue this with hi-NRG trance/techno.
Otherwise put pauses of some nice vocal trance between your energetic selections so that the energy of the last track moves on through the set so basically envisioning a club: people are still dancing because the track you had earlier made them groove and now they can enjoy more.
So summing it all up: picture yourself in a club... youre spinning.. no one's dancing. So get a track thats easy to dance to... flip flop through some nice mellow tunes with the energetic ones bring the energetic tracks up during the final parts of your set and end off with a good repetitive hi-nrg track.
So...yea too many words... but i hope u get the idea.

hmm i think it has a lot to do with the mixing... pounding the
audience with energetic sound all night is bound to get monotonous,
i think if you tease them, make them think its the climax, but prolong
it, you know, that delayed pleasure deal... if they think its about
to happen, and they want it and are waiting for it, and it still
doesnt it only makes em want it more. also, not all of the tracks
have to be very energetic, just use good tracks that keep the people
dancing, mix it up, be versatile, and save those MONSTROUS epics for
the end of your set, like that last track, make everyone believe
youre done, and then, drop your secret weapon.
