The Internet
The net connects millions for people all across the world with each other. People can come together, shop, listen to music, and do just about everything they could in the real world, but a lot more of it.
So why do studies show that the more time one spends online, the more one feels isolation?
Quote above from this weeks episode of OZ.
becuase humans are social creatures. a screen isnt a natural replacement for that. the internet is a great tool for information should not be a replacement for a life
^^^What he said
its cuz you dont directly interact with people we dont see each others faces, we dont hear each others voices, we just sit here and type, download music, and whatnot. i guess it can even be considered a form of anti-socialism. oh well.
Explains why im extremly anti-social and cant even pick up a telephone.

Thats why theres call display.
The problem is that we strive for interaction.. but we are so stuck on technology that we see it as rare to have a proper conversation with people...
I love interacting with people in real life more since actually seeing them, their face, their eyes, add's to the power of communication.

although you might be talking to 20 people, your brain still realises the reality that your sat in your room in your boxer shorts with the curtains closed and music on to keep you satisfied.

i dont know personally i just feel guilty sitting here using the net, im sure i use it more than i should
its cos u kno u could be out with ppl but instead are sitting talking to randoms half of which youve never seen or never met in person
I don't think it's anti-social to meet people on the internet, I think it's pretty social, i have meet a lot of my friends over the internet and I have also leared to know a lot people better by chatting to them. and it's not like i'm not meeting people in real life!

Unfortunately, I live in a rural area, and the people here generally suck
. Sadly I have FAR more intelligent conversations with people online than I do in 'real life'. About the internet making people antisocial, I think that people are anticocial by choice. The web can have more to offer than the people that you have to deal with at work or school or whatever.
Before I came on here I had no life, I hardly ever left the house and was pretty socially inept. I came on here, started talking to some TA's in the chatroom and arranged to meet some of them at a Gatecrasher event. 3 months later 2 of us went to Holland for Trance Energy, 2 months after that we moved to Sheffield and started going to Gatecrasher on a regular basis. I've made countless friends through that club.
Anti-social internet my arse
One thing 4 sure.. Sex is better irl
