REVIEW: Carl Cox @ Aria 28-06-2003

Well it was a last minute choice, i will always thank malek for the big ride. he came all the way to st. sauveur to pick me up, and i really wanted to see mr Cox. and well what can i say, the way he plays it's just crazy, great music, mostly i didn't recognize but it didn't matter cause they were amazing. i need to find most of them :P and Mr Cox himself is a great guy, always happy, dancing, overall fun person.

the whole aria dj crew was there, even mistress barbara showed up to say hi! :P

the tunes i can remember are very little, but here they are so you have an idea:

marco bailey - challenger
tomaz vs filterheadz - lazy people
underworld - two months off (some new remix)
ZZino vs. Filterheadz vs phuture 303 - No Weapons (phuture 303 remix)
chris liebing - october (ben sims remix)
dj rush - club freaks
Chris Liebing - Es ist freitag-aaabend... 3rd Anniversary Night (nobody listens to techno, let's go!!! )

etc.

highlight of the night was mr cox playing dj preach - agains the winter. after preach (or was it marc g?) gave him the vinyl that same night hehe nice. congratz preach.

anyway thanks to malek, really man thanks a lot for that big favor. and holla mazen :P and you taha why didnt you stay longer anyway hope you have a great trip to you nice country

great dj, he reminds me of preach, very very into his set.
i couldnt stay late cuz of the dumbass newbies i brought along.
the temp was pretty good for the amount of ppl that were there


props to patrice for the tickets, have fun in moroco taha

some random guy wearing the same shirt as me also gave me a preach live at aria cd!!! hehe i never leave aria empty handed

i forgot about that, it was packed but with the new a/c it was not hot. very cool and yeah i got also the cd. mazen was giving some of them away. but he had the aria shirt, so i don't think it was him who gave it to you.

Raul highlight of the night is when Carl Cox played:
PREACH - NO WAR IN SUMMER [ITURNEM]

Going to see Mr. Cox was a last minute decision and it was worth it!
I loved every minute of Marco G's set and then Carl just ripped the club Although not a techno fan I enjoyed the night big time! It wasn't hot in the begining but after 5-6am it started to get pretty hot on the Dance floor. Lots of hotties and people out of town. Amaizing night!

i think he means the top part. i have only been once up in there, and no vip. i have seen other nights a security guy there, but don't know if that's the vip room hehe.

out of all the times i went to aria, i never even tried going there,
and this weekend i told my friends to go upstairs to the hiphop and they went up the satirs to the vip hhahaha, they thought it was hiphop

u need to be privileged to go up? cuz it must be a nice view of the club

No dude you don't have to be 'priveleged' Most of the time I was let in there. Nothing special, it gets hot out there(warm air goes up). There are few sofas and I never saw it being crowded. The view is Ok, I think Dagobert(quebec) has a better view. Cheers!

I am soo glad that I came to Mtl this weekend., the party was a highlight, it was honestly one of the best parties ever...The vibe there was a rare seen vibe, I Mean, a bit different from Toronto, the ppl were nicer, and more open, crazier ..:-)

I reallly enjoyed the DJ before Carl, which I found out was Marc G...that set totally blew me off...It was a perfect 10 for me...and me not liking techno that much...It was just amazing! Is there a CD by that DJ or any site I can go on and listen to more???? Any sets on line??

Anyhow, I always Like Montreal, and this time I liked it even more...I should move there one day...!!:-) I have to say, the MTL partiers are NICe, very cool ppl! And thanks to Delirium for taking care of me!

i dunno whats the difference between TO and Mtl party cuz i never went to TO party

a guy in the lineup for tiesto in december told me the same thing, he prefered to make all the trip to come see tiesto even if he went to guv after

he told me TO peeps were not party people
