Anyone here workout?

anyone here work out? If so, what is your workout routine like?

I run mostly and ive been working out regularly everyday for the past several weeks thanks to the great weather we've been having. I feel 10000 x's better about myself and i sleep very well now. No more of those sleepless nights being a zombie My friends say that I seem much more happier and laid back now too so i highly recommend working out to everyone that isnt already. Today is my first day of doing yoga as well. . . ahh nothing like listening to prog and trance while doing yoga. My friends say that sounds kinda sissy but i heard its suppose to make your body and soul relaxed and peaceful. We'll have to see

i try to but i am too tired most of the time. most of my cardio comes from going up my stairs, rollerblading, and dancing. i am goign to try and start going to the gym on my lunch hour for weights, low weight, high reps.

I don't do yoga...but you can usually find me at the gym or on a soccer field.

Posted by Kailya on Jul-01-2003 20:58:

I go work out at night after Tamtui goes to bed. I love working out at night! Don't know why.

I like the machines that glide. I have no clue what they're called, and the bikes, stairsteppers. I dont work on the free weights/machine weights. I usually just do my own situps and pushups at home

Oh yes, I do Yoga at home with my Yoga mat fun stuff

yeah guess it's an eliptical machine then.... no impact running machine

Posted by Vlad on Jul-01-2003 23:46:

If you do run alot, if its not natural running outside, ONLY use the eliptical machines that the gym has. They are the best running machines and do absolutely no damage to any joints what so ever. When I used to work out, when I worked at balley's, I used to do alot of stuff, but I would keep it like a schedule: 1 day do chest and shoulders, another day do legs, another day do back and abs; and every workout would start and end with a cardio routine, usually running.

FYI, Bally's personal training is complete BS. Few care about you, they just care about making money off you.

peter, that is so awesome that you're doing yoga.. i'm a big fan of yoga.. i'm a yogee

about the stretching/hurting.. don't worry, in 5 sessions or so, you prally won't be hurting so much anymore the more u stretch, the more stretchable you'll be! ...and you know, that's useful for a lot of things..

That's what happens at BIG NAME places.

I work out about 4x a week. pretty much follow vlad's schedule except I only do cardio at the end of a workout because it burns too many calories at the beginning of it. you don't get as good of a weight training workout if you burn all your calories beforehand.

Posted by Vlad on Jul-02-2003 03:34:

I forgot to specify, I do cardio in the beginning for about 10 minutes to warm up my body. At the end of the workout I do as much as I can on the eliptical.

upper body

i hate exercise for the sake of exercising. i know it's cheesey, but i love the exercise i get dancing all night otherwise you'll have to get me wakeboarding, playing a sport or something else to gets my competitive side going. i used to try to go to the gym and do things like that at school, but then i realized that forcing myself to exercise was just putting me in a pissy mood.
BUT i do know that being completely inactive puts my in a really nasty mood, so i'm with you on the exercise busychild. my theory on it is that incidental exercise is better than intentional.

I used to work out a lot a few years ago; When I was 14 I could put up 250 on the bench! Lately though, I haven't been doing shit...

Posted by vtec junkie on Jul-02-2003 22:45:

my workout routine goes like this....
day 1. chest, triceps, and forarms (and i dont mean beating off )
day 2. back (upper and lower), shoulders, and biceps.
day 3. legs and abs.
then the cycle just begins again. this way, im giving my muscles at least two days rest. i also run and ride my mountain bike at least 3-4 times a week.
i was actually thinking about posting a thread about what dj do you all like working out to. i was working out to this dj snowman set today and it totally got me fired up. his sets are so hard!!!

I've been lifting for about a year now, 3 times a week, and have definitely seen results in both strength and body. A few tips I can give u guys, if you wanna increase muscle and don't have time to work 3 hours a day like someone said, you must and I repeat must consume protein. Whether its in the shape of regular food (like chicken, fish, etc.) or protein shakes. For my workout, I consume about 180 g of protein a day, since I weigh around 185. Also if you intend to look for new routines, whether it be cardio or weightlifting, check out www.bodybuilding.com. It is an incredible site with many articles and such.

Posted by vtec junkie on Jul-03-2003 21:22:

dont consume all that protein unless your going to work out 3-4 times a week for at least a few hours. if you take in all that protein and dont turn it into muscle.....your just going to gain more fat tissue. but for those of you that work out daily, one gram of protein per each pound you weigh is recomended.
