All nighter

i am in the middle of doing math problems that have to be done for 10:30 tomorrow morning and i have a ton more to do. i was wondering what you guys did to stay awake while you pulled them in college.

Posted by Dmatrox on Jul-02-2003 04:05:

-Red Bull

-100 or 200 mg Caffeine

-Frappucino from Starbucks

-water

-trance music (seriously)

(btw i dont think its a good idea to take the first 3 things all at one time, since red bull has ~125mg of caffeine and frappucino's have a decent amount of caffeine too)

trance is definately the key.....

these days I can't write an essay or even think properly while doing uni work without a nice blissful trance tune in the background. Chinese herbal tea also seems to work with me.

Peyote keeps you up for 3 days.

A good liveset or mixed CD with progressive helps... Red Bull is not the right key if you have to use your brain a lot - especially in the early morning...

yeah i am doing freakin math so that has all my brain in it.

Trance is the key my friend. Especially like the guy said, progressive. Just tone down the volume. Like for me, once it gets to a certain volume threshold, I start to lose concentration on the work I'm doing and just get lost in the music.

Then think first
Energy to dance all night and study math all night differ veery much...
Just do not drink too much energy liquids in the evening, but then if you feel tired/want to sleep - start drinkin' them ~ one an hour

nah man, the best legal stuff you can buy is mini-thin which is 25mg of ephedrine mixe with 50 mg of caffeine. That'll wake you up!!

otherwise if you can your hands on adderall or prescription amphetamines..the 10 mg are the best for all nighters. Take two of 'em a few hours after each other. and you're good for the entire 12 hour period.

Price check on mini thins?

$5.99 a bottle where i'm from. don't take too much ephedrine at one time though..its not good for your heart.

Max reccomended intake for one day is 32mg correct?

well i am almost done with this shin dig and i have one stupid ass math problem left and i cant figure it out. A company produces an item with a cost function of: C(x)=24x+f
when the company produces 28 items, the average cost of a single item is $29. find the total cost when producing 53 items.

There is no way to go through an allnighter without feeling like shit no matter what you take.

Next time take some base

It's linear, so the price of each item is the same. Just find the price for each, and make it 53 items.

unless.... f changes...

i made it through the night and said forget about it at about 7:45 this morning. went to my dorm room and passed out on my bed then woke up at 9:00 10 minutes before my first class started. so i had to run across campus to my class and i was still 5 minutes late. damn the bad luck.

Posted by jinxed84 on Jul-03-2003 05:12:

in highschool i had to do a couple allnighters, mainly because i was a moron and i didnt start my papers till 1am and i watchd TV while doing them...but thats beside the point.

water and orange juice are the easiest things to keep you awake.(ive heard a glass of water in the morning will wake you up faster than coffe, which ive personally found to be true)

sometimes i try not to listen to music as it becomes a distraction when you are tired(i tend to zone out to trance and just sit there starring for 30 mins like duhhhhhhhh)

so: water/OJ
music only if it keeps you up
and no TV etc etc the more you can focus and get into a rythm/groove doing the work the more productive youll be.
good luck in the future

i usually get friends over at my house for all nighters...you find it helps a lot but to stay awake but not on task and also it keeps everybody in the house awake too , i heard that apples are the best thing to wake you up, of course until you use drugs

Actually I kinda find trance distructing during study . I seem to concentrate on the music more... *snif*

the music is what helped me get through it and also talking on msn to some people but that only worked till about 2 am then everyone leaves for some reason.
