Hahaha Thanks. Yes I second Tascam X-9(I have one and absolutely love, especially when I take it to clubs that have shitty mixers) can get you one for $899.99(reg. is $999.99) but if you are on a tight budget, get

Behringer VMX300 reg$169.95 your price $139.95
Behringer ProDJX700 $199.99
Numark Fusion Series Matrix 3 reg.$299.95 your price is $279.95

Cheers...

i was looking at behringer mixers and i was looking at the dx052 in particular.....but now that i think about it, i am probably going to get turntables later on once i get better, so now im not sure if i should get a 2 channel or 3 channel mixer.... i like the dx052 because it has the headphone crossfader and headphone volume contol but the vmx 300 doesnt have that from what i know. .. does aanyone know if the dx626 have the headphone crossfader because im not sure what the crossfader that crossfades between master and cue is.....

if you want to use 3 channels at the same time you should go for a 3 (or more) channel mixer. But if you just want to switch from CD to TT and back you can just use the switch on the mixer: phono / line in.

example: channel 1 is your cdj left & TT left (there are enough jacks on the mixer). Channel 2 is you cdj right (and maybe even TT2?).
You can mix cdj left to cdj right, use the switch on channel 1 to switch to phono (which was line in), mix cdj right to TT 1 and so on.

I have a 3 channel mixer but i'm not using one channel (sometimes i hook up my laptop). 2 should do just fine if you're not intending to use 3 channels at once.

should i just pick up the three channel one neways because its the same price... im lookin at the behringer mixers, dx052 and dx626 those are my two choices that ive come too, im gonna buy one of those but now im not sure which one

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-04-2003 21:21:

Again, I suggest the VMX300. An excellent mixer for a friendly price...

I 'third' that.

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-05-2003 15:34:

Actually, it's not my first mixer either... my second one
But, I don't suggest you start with some crappy mixer 'cuz you're waisting money...

Posted by chesco on Jul-06-2003 10:32:

get the pioneer djm-600

my brothers had ours for 3 years and i've been using it properly for nearly a year. every day you learn how to do new stuff on it with the efeects and shit.

plus it is so easy to use.

the best 600 pounds ever spent.

Posted by chesco on Jul-06-2003 10:33:

but if you would prefer a cheaper mixer then probably the vestax or numark range would be better suited

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-06-2003 10:47:

the DJX700 from behringer is an almost exact copy of the DJM600 and it's alot cheaper than 600

Posted by chesco on Jul-06-2003 12:33:

yes but i garauntee you that you won't be playing with your behringer mixer 3 years later, cos it's a cheap and nasty imitation.

and whats with that anyway, pioneer should take them to court over this. it's a blatant copy.

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-06-2003 16:09:

I don't think alot of people here will agree with you there... Behringer's products are of a high quality!

Posted by chesco on Jul-06-2003 16:29:

why are they allowed to get off with such a blatant copy tho.

i'd rather pay the extra and get the real deal any day. thats just my view.

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-06-2003 16:52:

I don't care if it's a copy or not, I care about price and quality. Face it, 200 of the 600 pounds you payd on the pioneer are for the brand name. Another 150 pounds is for all kind of taxes for the import of all the parts into 1 country and exporting the finished mixer to your country. so, that leaves 250 pounds for the parts...
That's why behringer is cheaper. It makes the same parts in the country where the mixer is sold => no taxes, no shipping costs.

Look, As far as I'm concerned, the brand name is "majoewina", I don't care! As long as they give a good quality mixer that is worth its price. So what it's a copy, it's a hard world and the market of mixers isn't monopolised. If pioneer can make an as good mixer as behringer for a better price or a better quality, people WILL buy the pioneer mixer and not the behringer mixer. That's the way the economy works.

Posted by ChavezHype on Jul-06-2003 17:13:

Yes... thats how the economy works.
And I would have to agree that behringer mixers aren't of bad quality and are of relatively good quality... as with all products time will tell.
I just don't think they should copy another mixer because they have a chance to get away with it, profits will be high if it doesn't get sued.
However... we've yet to see pioneer say anything about this so it would be a pretty safe bet to go with that mixer seeing as how most people in this forum seem to have good experiences with behringer mixers and it won't most likely go out of circulation - (a line of their speakers went down after being sued by the original manufacturer-ill see if i can find some more).
I think with a mixer like that, you're really getting your money's worth as long as its not cheaply built, so it should last a decent amount of time (or maybe if everyone's unlucky the mixers fall apart after 2 years - or last 10 years).
I wouldn't care if its a rip-off if i were u... if its a quality rip-off liker tiger777 said, then it shouldn't matter to you anyway.

listen, i would still buy the pioneer. not only cos i like it better, but the fact that pioneer did years of research and development, spent millions of pounds on producing a mixer that for many years was the best on the market, then this behringer mob come along take pioneers mixer copy it, stick their name on it then sell it as there own. maybe thats why it's so cheap, because they spent fuck all on research.

Posted by Tiger777 on Jul-07-2003 08:09:

hah, millions of pounds. You should open up a mixer sometime... Then you'll see what's inside. You'll see about 50 condensators of maybe each 1000F(each 0.48$ a peace), you'll see about 190 resistors (each 0.15$ a piece), you'll see some wires sticking out(each 0.20$ a piece), you'll see a few plastic elements (all together, maybe 5$), and that is IT. Do you pay 600 for that? All this junk is made in China or Taiwan, pioneer earns tons of money on the junk they're selling... but heey, it's your money, do what you wanna do with it, it's none of my business.
