Cats + Obidience

Does anyone else have really terribly rebelious cats?

MY cat pisses/shits in the basement, and it pisses me off so bad.

I just had to re paint my basement floor, and she'll do it still.

Today i come downstairs, and she's coming from where she usually pisses (oppisite side from the kitty litter) and i'm like "YOU FUCKING DIDN'T!" so i go over to check, and theres this GIANT wad of cat shit.

so i grabbed her, and stuck her face in it, and i'm like 'WTF IS THIS!??!?!" and i dont like screaming at the poor thing, but i'm so pissed off! OMG.

suggestions?

If the cat is an adult already, it's probably too late to change its behavior. Is it capable of finding food by itself or is it totally dependant on you? You could use food rewards, when she does it in the right place, and starve her when she doesn't.

Also you could move the kitty litter to the other side

i have a pyscho cat that does the same things. it really is annoying but i love the cat to death. he usually does these things when i am not home, b/c he gets mad at me. he also gets mad when i have friends over b/c he NEEDS to be the centre of attention. he even bit one of my friends one time. and when i have my b/f over he just can't stand it, trying to get in the middle of things. he is just really jealous. i deal with it and try to spend quality time with him when he gets like this, b/c i have not been home lately. but i went to the vet and i was told he has irritable bowel syndrome b/c he throws up everyday. he needs medication to control it. i suggest going to the vet and seeing what they have to offer. b/c it may just be a stomach or behaviour problem....also try to keep the litter box clean at all times b/c sometimes that works. my cat is picky and wont use the litter box if it is not completly clean.
when i was 7 our family had a cat and she did the same thing, itt turned out she had a thyroid disorder.
and if you catch the cat doing these things, only punish it RIGHT AFTER it happens, b/c cats have no memory and need to be reprimanded right after they do the act.

hope this helps!

my cat is easily 1000000000000x smarter than my dog
maybe because she was trained by her mom to use the litter box
stupid dog

If the cat is full grown your probably too late.
When our cat was growing up we used a spray bottle of water to discourage her from mischevious activities.

my cat is 13.

she just started doing this though, she used to be really good at not making a mess anywhere.

i dont have a cat but my mom does. his name is charley and he is 15 y/o. he is having incontinent problems too. the vet tole my mom that happens with age. the vet gave my mom som pills for bladder infection and tole her to make sure that he has plenty of fresh water available cuz the pill will make him want to go more often.
the only other option is euthanasia but we dont wanna do that

My cat used to do this, then after I shoved its face in it a couple times and kicked it, it learned.

Cats don't give a shit about you.

You feed them, clean up their shit, stroke them when the need a fuss, even open doors for them. You're their slave, they own you

Yeah and they know how to suck up to you when they need something

It could be that the litter box is plain dirty, and the cat refuses to go into it. Every now and then you need to give that shit box a deep cleaning.

Dogs are dumber, and I also pity the poor things for being enslaved by man (which is even dumber).

I will gladly do so. Dogs were trained by man to be servants and give him unconditional loyalty. Even if the owner treats his dog like shit, the dog will continue to serve him.

Of course some dogs are smarter than others, but i've seen dogs terrified by a little cat in the street, or from the sound of a boiler starting. But the most convincing evidence i have to date is my neighbors' dog. It barks pretty much 24/7. It's enough it'll see a hint of a cat several yards away and will start barking for hours. And the cat's looking at him like, wtf does he want from me - he's tied to a pole... The cats don't take its barking seriously because they know it can't do shit, but it continues nonetheless.

Cats can be very devious. Have you ever seen a cat hunt? It's pretty amazing...

In any case, even if you say that dogs are more 'intelligent' or communicate better with people, cats definately have more in 'street smarts'. They're definately better at taking care of themselves.
