They rip off catchy tunes and turn them into utter crap!!!!

you must be kidding...

Respect for the man in de icecreamvan!

They really have the most stupid lyrics ever.
These kind of "producers" give dance music a bad name, anyone liking them should be banned from this forum

Ratty - Sunrise

Don't know any actual 'Scooter' tunes - but i reckon this thread is a joke - either way you'll get some abuse!

Posted by starglider on Jul-04-2003 18:49:

Jokes aside, Scooter weren't always so bad...

Their track Rhapsody In E was on the very first XTC release back in 1996 or so and is a traditional piano-driven trance track. Nice if you like the oldschool sound.

Hey, instead of posting which Scooter song, let's post which song it rips off instead!!

Posted by mto on Jul-04-2003 19:50:

Scooter was good when they first came out. I dont like them, but i did like some tunes. "Friends" is alright, "Move your ass" and "How much is the fish".. rest i dislike. Oh ya.. THE CHASE IS BETTER THAN THE CATCH.. haha thats the smartest lyric they ever wrote.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Jul-04-2003 19:53:

I like Unity Without Words Pt.1.From the time when Scooter actually did something creative.

Posted by golden_Rich on Jul-04-2003 20:01:

Surely some of you lot must like Ratty - Sunrise (Here I Am) ???

That was produced by the same people behind Scooter

Posted by jp on Jul-04-2003 20:13:

People making fun of Scooter have no idea about the history of dance music. The older generation knows how important Scooters influence on the development of (German) techno was.

If you like the tunes or not doesn't matter. Scooter pays all copyrights of the tunes they might copy.

Scooter has one of the largest groups of dedicated fans, who just like the happy vibes. You might try visit some of their gigs: FUN!

His tracks may be cheezy & cheap but you have to give him some respect, he is in the music bussines for a long time and succesfull for a long time.

And he is still bringing out the same type of tracks (Catchy Melody/piano/happy Hardcore voice) as about 10 years ago. the time of charly lownoise & Mental theo Etc..

(and it still sells) so he is probably

I really liked Nessaja by Scooter. The Logical Song was alright but it was way too commercial and a bit cheesy.

Heres something for you to bang your head against:

Posted by oDrori on Jul-04-2003 21:06:

Guess what, 90% of you missed out on 90% of Scooter's music, hence have no idea of what type of music they make. Yes, the new album is 100% commercial but the older ones, including the one that came out about 14 months ago or so, have many great tracks.

Scooter - Coldwater Canyon
Scooter - Transcendental
Scooter - No Release
Scooter - Across The Sky
Scooter - Back In Time
Scooter - Siberia
Scooter - Cosmos
Scooter - Don't Stop

Some of these are (Relatively) very old and way ahead of their time. If you haven't heard these, don't diss please.
Also, don't go "Ban every Scooter fan from TA" on me cause that's just a wrong attitude.

Posted by GrimReaper on Jul-04-2003 22:05:

I agree with JP, oDrori and a few others here.. IMO they have done sooo much better tunes in the past; their recent stuff isn't anything to talk about really.

Here's a few of my Scooter favs and some of them also seem to be oDrori's suggestions :

Vallee De Larmes
Move Your Ass! (Platinum People Remix)
Back In Time
Waiting For Spring
Cosmos
Rhapsody In E
Across The Sky
Endless Summer (Microwave Prince Remix)
Unity Without Words Pt. 1
Back In The UK (Paddy Frazer Back In Kelly's Remix)
I'm Raving (Taucher Remix)
Coldwater Canyon
Tonight
No Fate (Trance Mix)

They most certainly do not!

Mike from Push tried to sue them just awhile ago.

Well said! It's not a bad thing to take off from someone else's idea, as long as it's in a legal way!
