that's very interesting.. and it explains a lot. but i dunno if the wachowski bros really made it with all that detail. it's a bit hard to believe, we'll have to wait until november.
btw, what the hell is 'Second Renaissance' ?

Very interesting, and it makes sense to me. I'd actually be very happy if this is how the movie turned out. I like it.
Second Renaissance I believe was the time where we discovered artificial intelligence and turned into the sedentary, computer-obsessed livestyle that we live today.

it cant be that detailed and complex.....
i dont think a bunch of lazy ass movie directors would spend THAT much time making sure every little piece of symbolism got in and then
tell all the people who made the animatrix to put that detailed symbolism in THIER short films
its cool if its true but if its not...
i wanna see the look on that guys face when they say "dur...matrix within a matrix"

its definitely plausible but lacks what most ppl. look for in any great movie, and thats why i think it would be reckless to say that this is the correct interpretation of the movie
usually ppl. like movies in which there is a human element, a human struggle in which the good guys win in the end...but if what that guy says is true, then there is no good guy, there is no 'real' conflict because it's all happening inside the matrix...so in the end ppl. will come away thinking 'what a bunch of crap, i cant believe i spent all that time watching a bunch of AI robots fighting each other'
besides, i think that ppl. will feel cheated and will not consider that matrix trilogy as great as it is if it really turns out that way because of what i said...i dont think the producers would want that to happen...thats why i doubt the validity of this theory..just my 2 cents..

No ... freaking ... way. This is hollywood we're talking about. I'll shoot myself in the foot if this guy is right. First of all, I thought about the question of the first EMP blast in the Matrix 1 immediately and I thought that the author did a poor job of dispelling that argument. Maybe this guy addressed this issue but I'm too lazy to read every post in that thread.
