New Record Label...

ok, here is the deal. DTF Productions is going to be starting a label in the US and I will be overseeing it. 1st of all I want it to reflect ideas from all the members who contribute and make the trance scene possible here so I figured I would give you guys the chance to name it and also, for anyone with graphic art skills. You will have a chance to design the cover art as well...

so here goes. The label must be significant to the area in terms of ideas, history, culture, or any of the above. Also, I plan on focusing some of the releases and mixes away from Europe as I feel we have plenty of talent on this side of the ocean. We already have distrobution thru several vinyl shops around the world and already have access to pretty much every major dj and label, so all we need now is some bright talented producers who are ready to take the step towards mastering and releasing...

Hopefully this will be a long and fruitful venture as I think the major djs are finally accepting the US as a major player in the trance scene. If it wasnt for the US Tiesto would never have been world #1, so you can see the impact we will have in the future and I think now is the time we started taking advantage of it.

Congrats, Ian, good luck with the US market.

I am going to start investing in production and remixing next year, and intend to sit down and work endlessly on it. I pray next year there might be a spot open for some of my demos when I start doing some heavy work on this.

I said a good idea

A french owned label in the US hmmmmmmmmmm, I can see failure written all over that one. BY the way, I have switched to Belvedere and Ultimat. Let me know when the house is ready, I have a bottle with your name on it

How do you start a label?

Starting a label sounds very interesting to me

Posted by TempesTrip on Jul-09-2003 03:19:

good job ian congrats. if anyone can make that happen on "this side of the ocean" its more then likel you with because of your backround and all that you have done and people you know in the scene. good luck looking forward to the releases.

update:

well, it seems the label is getting a lot of support overseas because so far ID&T has offered a partnership and Armada has shown a lot of interest as well. I def. think the US Market is a major target now of the europeans and this is the 1st open door they have had.

For those that have artwork or names for the label please feel free to submit them here.

This is a label of the people, by the people, and most def. FOR THE PEOPLE

Posted by Stassi on Jul-18-2003 18:22:

Hey Ian that is really fuckin awesome, good for you!
now if you ever need a producer to futz around
