Its a sad day in the trance comunity

i just got hit with a fucking virus and it infected all my mp3s and jpg files i lost about 10 to 15 gigs of live sets and singles .if anyone knows how to repair them im using norton 2001. and if anyone is willing to share there ftps that would be most helpfull in getting back some of my sets !!!

good luck to ye trancemandan. i remember back when i lost mine...tis was a sad day....took me some time to get most of em back. but it gave me a chance to start fresh and ignore the trackz that i had that i didn't listen to anymore.

hey FASTDJMP3 and everyone i just figured something out i have them all back now singles and all. they wouldnt show up for some reason but now there all right back in there little directories hehe

Reminds me of how I lost my FerryCorsten-TranceEnergy2000 set.

I'd been looking for that set for months, and then one day Swamper put out a 2-day download list of files that had that particular set, and I gladly downloaded it.

Then the next day, I accidentally deleted it -- in fact I deleted it from the Recycle Bin without realizing that that was permanent!

Imagine my shock when I realized what had actually happened. I started looking on the Net for "real" undelete utilities, I found one that had a 2-file limitation. (The shareware version could only recover 2 files.) I chose the file to recover, and it was THE WRONG ONE!!! I had only one chance left! Thankfully, the second time was correct.

But the recovered version was much worse quality now, it had little pauses and clicks and stuff. Oh well. At least it's better than nothing!

I d/led the PVD at Mayday video from Swampers collection. 380mb on cable connection and it still took hours and it opened it instead of saving it to my HDD so after watching it (it rules) i closed it without thinking about it and realised that I hadn't saved it yet. It was goooone......Damnation lol

Had to spend half the night dling it again cuz it was so nice ha ha. Grrrr!!!!

collecting live sets has become an Addiction and a hobby , also im not as fortunate to have imports at my local music stores.so thats why i have these live sets.

Wow, you're lucky to get all your music back. Do you know what virus it was? I know how you must have felt when you thought you lost it all. I just recently had a 20gb drive bite the dust and about 15 of those 20gb was all trance. I'm still numb from the loss.

yeah just about purchasing music, i just purchased armin van buuren a state of trance, and as an import it cost $60 NZD, not cheep aye.If record companies want us to buy their music they should make it more affordable!!!!!!shit im all for supporting artists and so on but at that price!!!!!the CD has to be good.

guys, I cannot understand why you don't back up your stuff? CD recorders and CDs are damn cheap! You can get a 20x CD recorder for 200 US $! I always dl live-sets to a special folder, once it has 700meg in it, burn the friggin CD and you'll never worry about losing your files again. You can still keep the really good sets on your HD for listening, if it's big enough.
If my 'puter crahses, I'll loose 4-5 sets at the most.
