The version of Paris I have is with both BT & Way Out West. Is it the same version.

Not sure about that...haven't heard any of the songs except for Somnambulist. Could very well be a BT and WOW collaberation though.

Where did you get it from???

Found it online after searching some guys huge collection. It's probably a set rip, but it's quality stuff. Can compare it to
BT - Shame (Way Out West Mix)

I wonder which Rose McGowan this is... the one I know of is an actress, not a singer...

Should be a good album, I liked Somnambulist.

Since when did she sing?

... and what does she sound like? She did date Marilyn Manson, but thats the only musical connection I know with her.

Oh, man... just listened to the samples at BT's site. This album will be a major disappointment for many people. I certainly didn't like what I heard. Well, check it out yourself...

Im not sure what it was you were expecting from this album, in terms of style of music. Let me ask you this, Did you like Oakenfolds album - Bunkka?, if not it would explain why you would think ET will be a disappointment. Not because they are similar, but because you can't handle diversity

Granted its not for everyone, that is everyone who is expecting a whole CD of Flaming Junes!

gave the samples from bt's site a listen and here's my verdict.

As a Trance or Electronica Album, this albumm fails miserably. If it was meant to be in this genre of music then all aspects of every song is filled with cheese.

If it was meant as a Pop album, then this album is a success. Popsy tunes and commercial feel to every track.

Don't get me wrong here I think it's a decent album and i actually like some of the tracks, but it definitely does not fit any other genre of music besides the pop genre and has nothing to do with electronica in the least.

That's my verdict and I'm sticking with it.

My version of Paris sounds different from the sample. It's way more progressive and darker. Must be the Way Out West mix or something.

This just got slated over on the global underground board.

I read one BT's interview earlier this year so I sort of knew what was coming... was a bit sceptical after reading that interview and those samples are just like final nails in the coffin... This is the first BT album I'm not going to buy.

Anyway, diversity isn't the issue here. Based on those samples I would say Movements In Still Life has more diversity. The issue here is that BT is nowadays making weak pop rock and pop dance and that sort of music isn't my cup of tea. If I wanna listen to guitar based rock I rather listen to older Radiohead. And besides BT's singing isn't that great either but each to their own. Regarding Bunkka, I've have never listened to it cos the singles from that album were so bad. I have absolutely no interest in albums that have songs like Starry Eyed Surprise. To quote Austin Powers, that sort of thing isn't my bag, baby...

Pop isn't a genre.

It's not a musical genre as such. If it's popular, it's pop... however there is no musical connection between the music classed under pop.

Posted by GrimReaper on Jul-11-2003 15:17:

Pop just as "pop" is not a true musical genre.. it is about the same like what "techno" is to ppl who don't know anything about electronic music, trance, etc.

As for the BT album, i have listened the previews many times and most tunes on it have grown on me so much i will buy it, at least to fulfill my BT collection. These tunes definately need a few times to grow on ppl, very different from what most of us were waiting for. I knew it would be different though.
