Help with Instant Messeging

Right,

I'm at work in my office and i'm very very bored and i want to use MSN Messenger or Trillian to chat with my friends.

Now there is a problem, and my computer won't let the programs connect to the servers. I think it may be something to do with the Proxy server that my coputer is connected too.

Is there any way to bypass the security? I've tried HTTP tunnel, but it seems to lock up when it detects the settings.
