NYC Vinyl Shops? (going to NYC this wknd.)
Hey...
Im heading to NYC this weekend for a quick vacation. Does anyone know what the best vinyl shops are for trance and progressive?
I was going to ask what was going on this weekend...then I saw that AvB is coming! Is Tenaglia playing at Arc? I've never seen him and I've seen Armin (and will see Armin in August) so I'm not sure what to go to (I like tribal/prog...but will DT be playing all house?). Any advice?
Thanks
there have been a few quality threads on this. use the search function and you'll get more information than if you wait for replies on this thread.

Check the two vinyl shops listed on the flier.

Thanks for the help guys. I did a search and it looks like Satellite, Eight Ball, and few others are the best. Now I just need to decide on what to do Fri night...and convince my pub-only friend that I'm visiting to go clubbing...
A couple more ?s - What time does DT usually start? Anyone know when Armin would start? Would I need a ticket ahead of time for Armin?
Thanks
You probably don't need to buy an advanced ticket for Armin, but it's cheaper than buying at the door, and if you plan on going anyway, there's really no downside. They can be purchased at this link

They'll just hold the ticket at the door for you.
From what I guess, Armin van Buuren will probably go on between 2 AM and 2:30 AM, of course, I could be way off.
Also, DT is only at his best after 7-8 AM, when only the hardcore crowd remains. I hope that helps your decision!
Satellite Records probably has the most 'trance' 'progressive' records in the city, although their selection is shit nowadays..
Eightball records dont have much trance either but you can find goodies here and there..
VinylMarket is mainly Techno & Tech-House..
Sonic Groove is the same way..
check ^^^ out while your here..

enjoy your stay..

actually...i know for a fact that the NY Satellite shop is going out of business. it runs off a different catalog then the online shop now so don't expect anything new instore.
besides the aforementioned stores, there's also Decadance Records on 6th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave that carries a lot of prog/trance/techno. check the website at:
