Bedroom Dj Competition

For all of those who read this forum but not the amateur dj forum, we have a ladder challenge going on there. The basics are that you sign up on the challenge website (http://www.myleague.com/taladder/) and then you can challenge someone who is ranked or unranked to get yourself a ranking. You will start at the bottom, then by challenging others that are higher than you, you can gain rank. Right now we only have about 6-8 active people, so we need more to give it some variety. The thread link is here: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=110381 There is server space that is provided for you to upload your mix and the person that is challenging you, and also for the judge that volunteers to judge your mixes. If you want to be a judge or a contestant or both, please check it out. I know the thread is very long, and mosts posts are the working out of details that have made it into the competition that it is, but it is worth reading to get a better understanding.

I'd be more than willing to explain anything more that you have questions about, but please read the thread and visit the site before you ask questions! Most of the answers to your questions are in that thread because they have been asked before and the rules are in the very first post!

Well, I thought that I did sum it up in my first post. Also, if you would read the rules--the very first post in the thread--then that should answer most of your questions.

What specific questions do you have?

You join the Ladder, then challenge someone. Both you make a mix, then either stream it live or record it and upload it to a dedicated server and once you get a judge have it judged. Then the looser reports the lose and the ranking begins. You gain skill points for every win, and you gain rank for every person you beat that is above you.

Other than that, there are a bunch of technical rules/guidelines:

You must not use a "premade" mix for competition.
It must be between 30-60 minutes.
You can use any medium that you have available to you.
Each judge has their own set of judging criteria!
It is up to the challenger to help find the judge and set rules with the challenged such as how many practice runs if any, 1, 3, or 5 judges (if you can find them), how long the set should be, or anything else that you deem important.

As I have stated before, please at least gloss through the thread, even if you don't read them all. Skip to the rules and the judging posts so you can get a feel for how it works.

I have a question, in what format must the mix be and can someone explain me how/where to upload a song (just for a test, because I believe I won't be able to upload anything to the net because of this goddamn network).
