You値l never guess what our English teacher made us do in class today!!!
I burned my teacher a cd with a bunch of live sets including Ferry Corsten's World Tour: Washington on Thursday. This guy (Mr. Martinez) is a big trance fan, and has said before that he thinks it's today's Mozart and Beethoven.
So anyway, we show up in class today, and I see he has a boom box on his desk. He tells us our assignment for this class period is to listen to an entire 74 min set with our eyes closed! 
The set was FC's Word Tour: Washington. He goes on to say that after the set, he's gonna give us an assignment.
The assignment: we have to list 10 sentences that describe how the music makes us "feel", with the 10th sentence being a conclusion.
Crazy huh?
Anyone feel like doing my assignment for me?

but really I'd be very interested in what the whole class' opinion on the set was.

We got to mix infront of the class for an assignment once, mad shit. The task was to introduce a presentation on yourself and the music taste which interests you.

In my junior year of college, I gave a demostration speech on how Cue house vinyl...pretty easy speech for a dj!!

All our teacher had was an old kasette which contained some weird old christmas songs sung by an old swedish guy, the tape was something she got when casettes were invented in the previous millennium!! sometimes it slowed down and you could not make out a single word, other times there was so much noise that it might as well had been trance we were listening to, it was impossible to make out a single instrument! this lasted for 3hours, since she had to restart it when most of us fell asleep. Torture!

I had a similar assigment in High School. I remember she made us bring a song and play it. thats all. pretty cool assigment though.
its good to see people from the bay area in here. a lot of my friends are going to de anza next year. right now im taking summer classes at ohlone no teachers like that over here.
fuck, what an awesome teacher. All of mine are 80 year old farts with no taste in music.
i took an "electronic music" class in which were only 2 other people, the teacher constantly repeated himself, made us write down shit about synthesizers, and it basically went nowhere.
but he did make us do 2 presentations / papers with audio materials on a band / genre of our choice... i did techno for the first one and faked D&B for the second one which i didn't get to present... oh well, at least 3 more people are more educated about what 'real' techno is.
lol they named it electronic music class, maybe if they changed it to RAP BACKGROUND MUSIC class more people would of came
would this be the set ferry played at glow? i could write a HELLUVA good ten sentences about that.
