Give me topics... anything goes.. they have to be pretty broad.. if they're TOO specific that's no good..

- DJ Talk - Tools, synths, turntables & more...
- Computer talk - geek stuff
- How Do I? Section - ask any question in here..

..I dunno those are off the top of my head.. plz come up with some good ones for me

Thumbs up

I don't have an idea, I love your site the way it is!!!!!!!!!!

Wink

Well, I got an idea, maybe some interviews with famous djs or djs who just brought out some new song that is just too good, or info about upcoming parties who have a lot djs playing there

Cool idea!!

Hi swampie,

Why not something like:

- DJ Faqm how to mix?
- How to mix mp3?
- Where to buy vinyl?

Greetz,

Blighty

1. Mixing & Editing
- Articles & Discussion regarding different mp3/wav-software editors, how to use them, which are the best ones, where to get them, some sort of tutorials. I'd also like to hear about different synths and what kind of equipment people use to produce trance etc.

2. DJ/Label links
- there is a great number of websites which have selected some DJ/DJs and dug out all accessible info about them. It would be nice to have a collection of such links and a brief summary about key facts. E.g. under the topic "Ferry Corsten" I could find the best links to FC-websites and some basic info about the guy. I believe tranceaddicts here are willing to post the links & info (teamwork! ).

3. New Releases
- this group would require a lot of work; the idea is to supply lists of new trance track releases - as extensively as possible. Or at least links to websites which offer such info/summary of their content. Perhaps also links/info how to obtain each track etc. People could then comment on the new tracks and offer some fresh insight

4. WANTED Tracks
- people could post their requests here with ICQ/ftp/email/whatever info. Preferably some common myplay.com account(s) or equivalent so more than one person could get hold of the requested track.

5. Trance Streams on the web
- info about upcoming parties and links to pages if they offer live netbroadcast. Also info/discussion about netradio channels (shoutcast etc) offering trance + perhaps info how to setup your own shoutcast system and what kind of hardware/bandwidth it requires etc. Sort of event calendar.

First off Mindbender you got way too much time on your hands cause you reply like 1000 words to ALMOST topic. In depth. Second...Swapmer you have got the best Trance site on the net why change it. YOU could have events that are happining, listing dj's, time, price, location, etc. Everybody likes to know what going on. Oh and make sure to list all you can in and around TORONTO.

ravedave I type fast so it doesn't take long to post one reply and what do you care anyway?

Make a house forum too cuz I'm listening to Olav Basoski right now and this music kicks ass!!!

Seriously tho, I think the ideas the other peeps have are good.. how bout a single forum just to review new tracks that we've heard?? Just like the traceaddict picks... Just write the name of the track as the subject and have peeps give their two cents.. We already do this in the music discussion so I dunno.. I think it's all good right now the way it is

latez...

Err I just read mindbender's post.. His number 3 is what I mean..

I think you should absolutely have a Software forum!
(Creating your own music,editing,mixing)..stuff like that!

Posted by Antti on Jan-04-2001 19:42:

A forum for computer geeks? I think there's already plenty of them all over the internet.

Why not creating a forum for "music freaks" instead? A forum where people could discuss and ask questions about all the records out there and ask for detailed information like producers of the song, release dates, labelcodes and some other information... Perhaps this forum could work together with the "latest releases & promos" forum?

idea, very nice.
i thik it will be great if we will see whats new and maybe we can ask you to post it in the site if you can...

Exclamation

I think mindbender got the good one about a section for mp3 mixing, and making. A forum for talking about what software ppl use and which is best for what e.g. wav editors wave makers synths and sequencers, as well as mixers etc...

Posted by DJ SHY on Jan-04-2001 21:15:

Swamper, a DJ TALK forum is a great idea! I have recently taken up the art of DJing and I have a million questions!!!!

Also it would be cool if there was a track review forum, where we could read each others reviews of different tracks!

Thats all

Talking Software

A section for mixing/mp3-sofware would be great!!!
I'm still looking for good mp3-mixing software so i can make my own Trance compilatiion :-)

Definitely a production section. What gear, how to use it, techniques, maybe hosting trancEaddict's own tracks for download and comment. You might find the next Underworld or something.
