New to Edinburgh...

Hey
I recently moved from Uppsala in Sweden to Edinburgh and I thought this might be a good place to get some good info on the scene here. What's the best site for event info if not this? Also what's a good way to promote myself as a DJ here? So far I've managed to locate Sals/Sels pizzeria down by Warner Village and I got to spin a bit there for fun on a saturday night. But I'm not really familiar with the club scene here, or even HAVING a clubscene since my home town sucked, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scotlands trance scene really really sucks at the moment. The majority of trance played is cheesy nonsense, you will struggle to find a club that brings consistently quality trance DJ's here. Edinburgh as far as I'm aware has no trance nights worthy of mention, a small trek and you will find R@TT club in Bathgate. They get some qulaity big names in and the actual club is fairly spacious and well laid out. However, most of the crowd are neds so don't expect a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Get yourself over to Glasgow, Inside Out is about the only club night that caters for trance and brings in the big names. Though the line-ups lately have become very stale with Judge Jules turning up a lot as well as Tall Paul. The Arches is easily the best club venue in Scotland, if not the world, you must make a visit there one night for the aforementioned Inside Out or Pressure. Sorry I couldn't be of more help regarding the Edinburgh scene!
