Whats the longest you have gone without spinning?
I feel like such a tool...I haven't touched a record in about 4 months
I've just been too busy with school and work...works been so stressful lately...all I want to do is crash when i get home from work
I hope I don't loose my touch
what's the longest you have gone without spinning?
if im away on vacation, so like a week and a half
23 years. before i got my decks.
but no seriously, i try to do it at least once a week, but sometimes it's almost 2 in between.
It's about 8 months now I haven't seriously touched a deck.
i have to mix every week for taw hehe
4 weeks, but that was during an exam period
Last year I was living with a mate who had a pair of 1200's and i spun at least once a week, but i moved to the UK in january and up until 2 weeks ago had not used a turntable since then.... and the turntables i did get to use were PD-1's *shudder*
I miss having decks
2 weeks here, and soon a week and a half when i'm on vacation.

Most I've gone is something like 2 months. At that time I just didn't feel the need to go on my tt's... dunno why. But I know what you mean about work making this happen, cos I feel the same after I've finished work, even though I wanted to get home and have a mix.. probably because of feelin tired.
Its good though when I have a 1-2 week holiday break because when I get back on my tt's I always feel refreshed and have more of an urge to mix. Ideal from time to time
i work during the night, sleep when i come home in the morning after watching porn on the net, and get up in the evening around 6 or 7, take a shower, have someting to eat, then spin for about 1 hour or so, then watch some tv and then back to work. and on the weekends i spin all night for dusk to dawn if i dont go out, but if i go out, i hardly touch my decks. im playing in burlington this saturday.
At one point last last fall I got really out of it and didn't spin for about a month or so...and I'm not sure how I got back into it, but since then it's been at most a week, and it's rare if I don't spin every day I'm off from work. And I've only been playing more and more...
It helps to get new records though too, I tend to play less if I don't order for a while.
Few days or so. Prolly max 4 or 5
1 month. I'm currently in a phase where I don't feel like mixing at all. It's weird too because I just got some new vinyl the other day. I hate it when I get into these phases. Oh well, maybe I'll hit the decks tomorrow lol.
10 days when I'm on vacation.
two or three weeks!
only 2 days, when i have to go to my parents house for something.
i've only been spinning for 7 months, so i guess i'm still in love, huh?
2 and a half week,it was awful
I'd have to say a week or two at the most.
The scene over here is very different hear though.
There isn't a single vinyl store in the country so everyone plays on CD's.
So everytime I play its at a party where the sound and pitch is rented for the night.

Since Ive had them, Ive been on them, on average, ever other day. The longest Ive been without a mix has been about 4 weeks when I broke the cable on my headphones. I was a state come the end of my deck abstinence. When the replacement cable arrived I was on them solid for about 6 hours! I also though Id loose my skill, however, though you do loose a deal of your polish, you dont forget anything of fundamental importance.

Hey Moonshine
I'm not from Bombay.I'm from Pune which is about 200k from Bombay.I dont think any EDM[Electronic Dance Music- House & Trance]is played in north India. For that matter no where in India.
Its mostly Pop,Hip Hop,Hindi,80s and a little Club music.
But people are being more open minded to EDM and the scene is changing especially in cities like Bombay,Bangalore,Calcutta and Pune.
So most of the music I play is Hindi[at weddings/receptions] and pop,hip hop and club whenever I get to play at a club.
The only chance you get to play House or Trance is at a few farm parties.
I only spin when i feel like or feel like showing off
. My problem is i have too many hobbies, my main side of djing would be:
1: Production
2: Decks
Then i have my training to think about, work, moving house soon etc etc stuff like that so i really dont touch them as often as i would like but at the end of the day there crap
(My turntables that is).

There are clubs around but its because of Dj's that play Vengaboys and stuff like that that the scene is sooooooooo bad.
Its a vicious cycle.
They play cheesy crap....so all the crowd knows about is cheese so the come and request for cheese. Then when you do try to play real club music[EDM] they come and fry your brains for the same cheese you fed them in the first place.
But the scene is changing thanks to more forward thinkin Djs who are trying to draw a line between Club Music and other music.
As for dancin to trance-they do.Only you have to stict to the more well known stuff like Lethal Industry or even For An Angel and Greece 2000.
